Only Indians Were Outraged That Amazon Is Selling Doormats With National Flags Printed On Them

The beef ban is now a joke. Muslims openly slaughter cows in Mumbai and hang them in Byculla. Right off the station roads. The police is too afraid to touch them(more likely) or perhaps they have taken bribes. A Hindu killing a Muslim is an exception. Hence the news. The opposite is the norm.
It's not only in Mumbai..
Issues are made out of non issues for vote gaining purposes.Police can do anything if they want. But their hands are tied by state rulers for vote gaining purposes.Crime against Hindus, burning, vandalizing Hindu houses are new norm.No one gives platform to propagate news about such incidents..
Even most Hindu youths consume beef.So it has never been an issue for either Muslims or Hindus & beef ban would never be succeeded..
It's biased intellectuals & media who are destroying Hindus & their tolerant image in this country by circulating fake image.

Firstly to those who are crying freedom of expression if it it is their freedom of expression to make doormats out of flags then it is also our freedom of expression to protest against the same. We are not being voilent and not blowing up Amazon offices or slitting the throats of the Amazon workers

Secondly to those who are crying about Sushma Swaraj's Visa Denial threat It should be known that Visa is NOT a right. It is given at the pleasure of the host country and we have every right to refuse or revoke the visa

Thirdly to those stating Their Country Their Rules even Canadian Rules forbid insult to National Flag

Dignity of the Flag
The National Flag of Canada should be displayed only in a manner appropriate for this important national symbol; it should not be subjected to dishonour or displayed in a position inferior to any other flag or ensign. The National Flag always takes priority over all other national flags when flown in Canada. The only flags that are given priority over the Canadian flag are the personal standards of members of the Royal Family and of Her Majesty’s eleven representatives in Canada.

The National Flag of Canada should always be flown on its own mast ; flag protocol states that it is improper to fly two or more flags on the same mast (for example, one beneath the other). The following points should be kept in mind:

  • the National Flag of Canada should not be used as a table or seat cover, as a masking for boxes or as a barrier on a stage or platform;
  • it is not common practice to use the National Flag of Canada to cover a statue, monument or plaque for an unveiling ceremony, and should be discouraged;
  • nothing should be pinned to or sewn on the National Flag of Canada; and
  • the National Flag of Canada should not be signed or marked in any way. A border could be attached to its outside edge, which can be marked while leaving the Flag itself untouched.

Granted these rules are stated for the Candian Flag but then it is Common Diplomatic Courtsey that you will not allow direspect to other country flags which you will not allow to your own flag
Usually countries like Canada support freedom of expression and don't give two hoots about India but if this thing effects Amazon sales /Visa then they may eventually bow down. Maybe Indian government was looking for ways to support local online shops who knows? I say good move :D.

AMAZON have already taken down down the doormats

.
Nice move. Time to tell Goras what we think about things.
No matter what, I will support that decision by Indian govt.

I donot think Gora take an ounce of umbrage on these things

US Flag Toilet papers

UK Flag Toilet papers

US Flag briefs

The list is endless. No one in US will wink if you put US flag on tampon or toilet paper etc etc etc, but dare cross US land/sea/airspace without authorization or evade US Tax and you will have full might of US against you.

I wonder what will happen if I order China flag toilet papers from Alibaba. It is the poor people of subcontinent and vulnerable Chinese nationalists who go gaga over these things.

Too much unwanted concern is being shown by our foreign minister. I wish she spent more time on making sure that Indians are treated better around the world instead of worrying about the flag. There are more Indians slaving in ME as slaves but there is no humiliation felt for the same.

.
It is a classic example of looking for things to feel offended. Someone is selling doormats on amazon canada with flags of different countries and Indian foreign minister issues visa warnings to amazon on twitter, a company that is employing thousands in India and investing billions. But it appeals to fragile egos of online warriors, so who am I to object? Besides, Sushma ji is mostly free as Modi has sidelined her completely when it comes to foreign policy. So she has to make her presence felt, right?

So my doormat decides my patriotism is it? Our politicians and judges sure have a never--ending list of nonsensical issues to pay attention to. Of course patriotism is a soft target for their zealousness.

Some time back it was a test of patriotism to stand up for the anthem in cinema halls - but curiously the same judges did not care to make it mandatory to do so when the court opened each day.

And now this.

We certainly have our priorities wrong if we get our knickers in a twist over a doormat but fail to plan or implement a note-change policy well or have no accountability for the thousands of crores sunk into weapons programmes that yield no result.

As external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj needs to channel her energies into hobbies more beneficial to ordinary citizens such as:

- better immigration service at Indian airports
- lesser visa headaches when traveling abroad
- faster passport renewal
- ability to exchange the older high denomination notes without going back to India and standing in queue in RBI for 3-4 hours

Shame on Sushma and the rest!
