Not given but purchased for $1b in today's estimate.

I know. It was my mistake. See post 40. I have corrected my initial post.

:lol:

Anyway while I might disagree with some of @Azadkashmir views (as seen in this thread) he seems to be a genuinely friendly person. Moreover he just told that he has a health condition so I won't bother him even if I disagree.

Ah ok didn't saw a that.
Pakistan should have just grabbed Gwadar. Do you know how far Gwadar, Pakistan is from Oman? Exactly 392,000 metres. That is equal to 243 miles.
Nah why unnecessarily create an enemy and bring problems upon yourself? when you can solve the prob through talks....

I thought invading with a army was the South Asian way?

This guy many people say is mi5 asset.
They are right. MI5 have sent him on another covert mission for 5 1/2 years as a asset - inside a British Prison to report on how good the food is.

Haha well that happened after Portugal refused to give up Goa and talks ended.

"On 27 February 1950, the Government of India asked the Portuguese government to open negotiations about the future of Portuguese colonies in India. Portugal asserted that its territory on the Indian subcontinent was not a colony but part of metropolitan Portugal and hence its transfer was non-negotiable; and that India had no rights to this territory because the Republic of India did not exist at the time when Goa came under Portuguese rule. When the Portuguese Government refused to respond to subsequent aide-mémoires in this regard, the Indian government, on 11 June 1953, withdrew its diplomatic mission from Lisbon."

I wrote "given" while I wanted to say sold for a favorable price. Mostly nothing is for free in this world. My point (if you read my posts) was simply that it was not a one-way street.

@Azadkashmir

Do you sometimes hike/walk in such terrain (Pennines)?

Lake District?

Beautiful areas.
Well I followed ur posts here , although I dont agree that the amount was favorable for only Pakistan but It was also more or less same favorable for oman but anyhow this was a great deal for Pakistan.

@RISING SUN

You have created 3 threads about Oman in the span of minutes.

I highly suggest to post such news in threads that are intended for them.

There are a few threads about Oman on this section of PDF.

See this thread below:

Or this one:

Sorry for inconvenience, that wasn't my intention. However whenever I look for similar threads, I don't find one. If sticky threads are there, it's definitely easy to find, rest are difficult. If you are aware of important common threads, can you get those threads converted in sticky threads? @waz will definitely help. It will be easier for posters like me to understand ME subjects more easily. Thank you.

What a reply. Upset? Where? Why? If anything your compatriots based in Oman should be upset. I tagged two of them. Not me.

Why do you think that SOME people end up getting deported from Oman and all countries of the world in fact maybe excluding North Korea)?Could it have something to do with overstaying your work visa, crime, or your services not being needed in sector x or y for time period x or y, thus your presence in country x or y, ends? Why don't you for once appreciate the fact that billions of dollars in remittances are send from the GCC to Pakistan each year. The GCC is not forced to welcome Pakistani workers. There are plenty (trust me) who would gladly take their place. Stop parroting the same nonsense again and again.

As for actual slaves, do you know where the most actual modern-day slaves are based mostly? Yes, in South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan).

Your own Pakistani media (Dawn):

http://www.dw.com/en/why-modern-slavery-is-widespread-in-asia/a-19295812

Let me quote:

"India tops the list with some 18.35 million modern slaves, followed by China (3.39 million), Pakistan (2.13 million), Bangladesh (1.53 million), and Uzbekistan (1.23 million), the report said."

Are you going to bother about them or does it not matter since the perpetrators are rich Pakistani landlords and other locals? Just asking.

Oman and India have had cordial ties for a long time. This explains why this Indian thread starter tends to create threads solely about Oman on this section of PDF. Oman is an odd ball in the sense that they have cordial ties with the likes of the Iranian Mullah's too. You can consider them a Switzerland or Sweden of the region in terms of foreign policy. They always keep out of all the fights in the region and the Muslim world. Can't say that this has been a bad decision looking at their society and country and how well they are doing. As for "losing", no such thing. Would be incredibly stupid for both parties nor is that the case in the real world.

@Khafee
Sir I create threads on most of countries including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea (both) Taiwan, south east and Central Asia. African countries, American countries. You see my thoughts are not so much provincial. You can check right here in PDF, same I do in my FB account. Many of my friends are here in PDF, they can attest to it.
Note:- I promote Islam more than Hinduism in my FB post, why, is it because it's greater than my religious beliefs, no because I try to learn, even from pics, even from the pics you have posted. I never knew Oman had such greenery on large scale. Please don't assume things,, that can I lead you far from reality. Hope I didn't came out rudely. Thank you.

We like to wear trackies, hoodies, spiff in mouth, copiously spitting as we swagger along with attitude. We love our quality food from 99p chichen an chips deals with halal cola. No freakibg Jew owned Coca Cola for us. And then we drive our cars like crazy with "Free Palestine" stickers on display conspiciously. That us. We is great.

Edukation. That is for puffs. We eave school at 16 and get real university of life on streets.

While there is badblood between muslims of east and Central asia, I as a light Muslim Brahmin believe that i have more in common with Iranians, Afghans, pashtusn and baloch than Arabs,turks or bangladesi muslims.
