I obviously have no idea but that's what some rumors say. He was once married but he left no heirs. Anyway I don't care. Personally I think that he has been a good ruler of Oman (although I have not always agreed with everything that Oman has been doing foreign policy wise) and he is highly respected by the Omani people (all social classes, all religious sects, all the different ethnic groups) for the progress and changes that Oman has underwent during his rule.

He has ruled Oman for almost 50 years and he is one of the longest ruling monarchs/head of states in the world. On top of my hand (recent era) only Ibn Saud, Sheikh Zayed, Isa Ibn Ali Al-Khalifa, Jabar Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, King Hussein of Jordan had somewhat similar long/historical reigns in the modern era. Forgot the last Iranian Shah (second Pahlavi). Talking about the immediate region here.

I once visited Manchester and the nearby Pennines. The nature is quite beautiful for UK standards and quite hilly. The villages were also cozy and nice looking. What I liked the most (nature wise) was Dorset and Cotswolds. I have never been to Scotland but I hear that it is a beautiful country but the weather seems to be horrible.

BTW what about hunting? Is it expensive in the UK? Fishing is a good past time.

I am mostly familiar with London and a few immediate areas. I have relatives that live in the UK (London) and when we visit we occasionally visit other places in the UK as well. I once visited Manchester and the nearby Pennines. The nature is quite beautiful for UK standards and quite hilly. The villages are also mostly nice. UK has decent areas you can visit but you most do research before you go.
The weather is deceptive it can change instantly. Was it cold enough ? lolz most visitor from pak run back home once they feel the cold. Gas bill can be expensive here.
How was the food ? nothing like what you get in pakistan or oman i bet.
it is fixed price lolz you cant negotiate unlike in pak maybe in oman too.
i heard scotland is a great place for jobs and financial reasons.
Most people import cheap cars from scotland.

yep i like adventure but i have medical condition so it game over no more climbing rocks, fishing, hanging on branches like monkey, throwing stones in ponds, slingshoting squirrels etc.
I can still do the hiking, but just walking but nothing intensive.

I am not choosy, my friend. I spent 2 months in Yemen not long before a war began between the Houthis and KSA/Saleh. Mostly an air bombing campaign. Not long after a war broke out. Don't confuse me with pampered people who could not survive in the wild for a few hours. I am very much an outdoor man/active. Or at least I try to be.

My father is a big fan of the UK. While I do like London (overall it has more positives than negatives) and while I find areas that I have visited (I have seen far from all of course) such as the Lake District and the Cotswolds beautiful, I do personally prefer the likes of France (Southern in particular), Spain, Italy, Greece etc. Mediterranean Europe/Southern Europe. For many reasons that I won't bother you with here. A bit familiarity too and feeling more "at home" so to speak as well. Weather, nature, cuisine etc. plays a big role here of course.

The weather in the UK is similar to most of Northern Europe, in particular Scandinavia. The weather can be rainy, snowy, windy and sunny within a day, lol.

Most people from the GCC or other Arabs (not talking about those that are UK citizens) mostly visit during the summer (many are escaping the heat during June, July and August back home) so many of them are not familiar with UK winters. Anyway UK winters are not that bad compared to many areas in the UK. Even places in KSA are colder. Don't forget that most of KSA is mountainous and desert. No need to say how cold it can become during the night or in the winter. -15 celsius has occurred in KSA. This is a rare temperature in the UK despite being located far to the north in comparison. Oceanic climate helps here which I am sure that you know all too well.

Yes, many people go to Scotland to study and work. Not familiar with the country though. As for cars, I have no idea about that but you probably know much more about this than me.

I do however know (I have heard at least) that Scottish cuisine is as horrible as their weather.

well i used to wear trackies when i was 14 then stopped. coca cola i stopped due to warning by doctor so no more sugar at all for me including milk. Yeah it used to be honda civic vtec vti lolz now its vw golf gt tdi. oh food god the cheap nasty take aways, i cut down on that. i am on veggies, daal, oats mostly but do occasionally have fish and chips. yeah, free palestine then go to Starbucks to drink coffee. This sounds like my town.

Sorry to hear about your condition. Hopefully it is not a life-threatening condition or something that impacts your life too much.

In KSA falconry is very popular and watching birds. Not sure what this is called in English. A person on a wheelchair (in theory) can engage in such pursuits.

Also you can buy a drone. I am thinking about buying one. It seems to be great fun.

uk system will drain you so the next generation does not believe in working harder cos they tired. if economy goes down i bet you so many marriages break because of financial reasons. These days to open a small corner shop it is a struggle. Most people want their own business rather then to rely on employment, where they have no say in when to work, time off etc.
