NSG team to travel to Bangladesh to study terror strikes

This is start of indian occupation force in Bangladesh. Entering in same manner -as Sikkim and Kashmir, using a subservient regime to self invite. There are RAB, SWAT and defense forces experts and commandos in Bangladesh, Awami League spent hundreds of millions and and telling the nation is these forces are not worthless. They had been gloated by BDForever, among others, in this forum, what happened to that? It was all lie, was it?

Your wish is granted @third eye :P

. . .
Yah its just funny that these jamati keyboard warriors had their little maps all circled and analysed....like they know jack about how and where RAW operates.
Destabilization in BD is the last thing this govt need, in fact there has been a greater military cooperation between two countries than any other neighbor countries of India.

BD Para train with Indian SF, i am sure RAW and BD intel agencies will cooperate even greater in the wake of this attack.

.
Terror represents an existential threat to many countries, In Europe and the US there is close sharing of information and resources, where such sharing does not exist ie the middle east and Africa terror has managed to grow and occupy territory.
Cooperation should be beyond conspiracy theorists, fantasists, and closet Jihadi supporters that want to ensure no action is taken by creating endless conspiracy theories. These theories aid only the terrorists and are designed to ensure that we remain confused and befuddled about the enemy and refuse to enjoin together in the common struggle.

. .
Conspiracy theories aside, Special Group (RAW) do operate in foreign countries with prior knowledge of defence attaché.
Except SG don't organise/run "kill centres" (whatever that is).

If SG are in BD it is for the benefit of the local security forces or to facilitate "snatch and grab" ops against anti-Indian elements.

Except for few Awami League stooges, entire Bangladesh is against india and indian occupation. So you admit india ran covert killing operation using RAW before and now special ops NSG unit will go after Bangladeshi population who oppose indian occupation.

I have not said anything of the sort.

An evidence response team from India's federal counter terror unit (NSG) is going to BD to facilitate the collection of testimonies and gaining an idea of the tactics and modus operandi of these terrorists so as to aid the NSG in their preperations as part of their weekly global terror assesment. Nothing more, nothing less.

.
Good to see them being proactive, I was interested to learn recently that the NSG conducts an analysis of all terrorist attacks worldwide on a weekly basis and sends teams to those sites if deemed necessary to garner more first hand information.

@PARIKRAMA @bloo @SpArK @Guynextdoor2 @Echo_419 @Water Car Engineer @acetophenol @Unknowncommando @Jamwal's @Levina @Joe Shearer @nair @Star Wars @ranjeet @noksss @dadeechi @Sam. @Stephen Cohen

NSG went to study the westgate Kenya Mall attack too its good that they are proactive . But the important point is be it TED institute attack in Kashmir or Phatankot attack which happened after 26/11 the common perspective in all these attack is we took more time to complete the operation which served as a good TRP and moral booster for these terrorist scums. I would be very happy if NSG concentrates on how swiftly and quickly they complete an operation with less collateral damage which will in turn serve as a image and moral booster for our forces . Ajith Doval understand this and during his paris visit he studied on how the French forces has done whole operation in a short period of time effectively . Its high time the NSG start looking into this aspect and fine tune their doctrine and training on that basis

Questions have been raised as to why the Indian security forces took four days to neutralise six terrorists when the French authorities tackled multiple simultaneous terror attacks in Paris and neutralised all terrorists in two hours. Doval would also be mindful of this fact though the terror attacks of Paris and Pathankot were drastically different, the essential difference being that while the first one was at public places, the second one was at a closely guarded airbase which is one of the biggest military facilities of India. Given his rich experience in handling operations of the Intelligence Bureau for decades, Doval will obviously be looking minutely at the French system and the good things that the Indian security establishment needs to learn from them. The French authorities' recent laudable role in dealing with the unprecedented and audacious terror attacks in Paris will be closely studied by Doval.

Pathankot and the Paris attacks are Apples and oranges

1) Pathankot is a VAST military installation with a 24km perimeter wall with hundreds of buildings/storage areas that EACH had to be cleared by the NSG
2) The actual combat operation of the NSG lasted only around 10 hours (after which all terrorists were dead), the four day timeline blindly repeated by the media is how long it took the NSG to sweep every single nook and crany of the vast installation in what they refer to as their "render safe" drill. This is standard NSG procedure wherein the force commander (the supreme authority on the ground in charge of all ops once the NSG offcially steps in and whom not even the PM of India can overrule) will not declare the operation offcially over until the drill is complete and he is 100% confident that not even a single live round is unaccounted for. These drills often take far longer than the combat ops but the media spin the entire durtion as "combat ops".
3) Conversly, in other countries the counter terror forces deploy, conduct combat ops and retreat leaving local/federal police forces to sweep, take care of muitions etc whilst the NSG take care of the entire process from "boots on the ground to render safe" meaning when the NSG pull out the site is 100% safe for any other agency to come in.
4)It is this difference, that the media just do not understand, that often leads to these highly inaccurate timelines being attributed to NSG ops. If the NSG did not have the "render safe" drill as part of their SOP they would have the same "swiftness" as any other unit.

Whats your thought about the TEI attack in Kashmir which stretched well over 3 days to complete?

The scale of the attack sites are not the only difference but the very SOPs used by the different forces (NSG vs GIGN) and refers to very specific technicalities.

This kind of nuance will never be used by the Indian media I suppose.

Do you mean the EDI operation in Pampore?

Ya ya right sorry for the typo and whats your thought on that ?

1) This operation was carried out by the RR, not NSG
2) it had been the CRPF who had been the first on the scene and that had entered the building (later pulling out and calling in the army)
3)The first objective had been to ensure there were no civlians in the building (notice not a single innocent life was lost) and to create a cordon so that no terrorists could escape
4) it was only then that the SF teams had been sent in (about 20 hours into the terrorists entering) and by all accounts they did a fine job faced with an entrenched, well motivated and supplied enemy who held the high ground.

Ordinarily, the RR's playbook is to try and wear down the enemy so as to caputure them alive and glean valuble intel, however IIRC, in this incident the local commanders had faced a local hostile population thus requiring a more aggressive action plan (SF intervention).
