US got crushed by the PLA and people's war strategy where China sacrifices as many lives, as much money and as much weaponry as it takes to gain land.
That's exactly what happened in Korean war when once China entered the war, the US and its allies had to retreat as Chinese forces humiliated the US 8th army.

It is not new but the fact is it is not right, especially for a great power. Have some pride and confident in your country. That is all I'm saying. India and Russia are allied, you don't see India hosting any Russia military base. I just find it demeaning to a country status and national pride to host foreign military. The US will never host other country military base.

Russia and India do not have a mutual defense treaty. NATO and the US do, which is why we have bases there. European countries prefer that US soldiers ensure their safety, and that the US spends what is necessary to ensure the safety of Europe--meanwhile, Europeans can treat their armies like employment schemes instead of mechanisms of national defense. The moment Europe takes its own defense seriously is the moment that they will not need US bases, but that day is unlikely in my lifetime. The US does not host foreign military bases because the US spends enough for its own defense, but we do often host foreign military personnel for training purposes.

The case in Europe is also true of Japan, but Japan's lack of sufficient defense is not entirely due to lack of will, but rather, because of Article 9 in its constitution. Article 9 has spawned a peace cult in Japan, which suffers from the same mental sickness of leftists worldwide, from Scotland's anti-nuke hysteria to Code Pink's psychotic anti-war behavior. True, there are frictions between the US presence and the local population, but tellingly, the population centers grew to surround the bases, not vice versa. So while there is fringe opposition to the US presence, reasonable Japanese know that an abrogation of the US defense treaty will mean that Japan must both spend more on its defense, and also create its own nuclear umbrella.

It's hard for me to believe that a Chinese citizen would be advocating for that scenario, but I learn new things about Chinese thinking every day.
