You do come across as a neutral person and that is the only reason I am posting a response to your post, I do have family in MQM and believe it or not I am more critical of MQM then any of you can be but not on lies and propaganda that you and others believe.
Thank you.
1) You said MQM has attitude problems and I agree MQM does have an attitude problem and reaction to insults on AH are grossly magnified. But look at what happened to BB, perhaps the most loved leader of Pakistan when she returned, do you expect MQM to make the same mistake? MQM workers are strictly opposed to the idea of AH's return and they want him to stay safe in London until they consider the time ripe for his return.
I don't know when the time will be right for Mr. Altaf to return but if it does not comes and Mr. Altaf passes away in London, then he won't get the respect that BB got for her sacrifice. People will remember him as a coward who ran away from difficult times and never bothered to return to help his people. The MQM would end up harming his image more than it already is with current attitude. A sad truth which MQM needs to understand.
Otherwise, choose a leader who is not afraid and who can actually fight for justice and can serve people in the rough times. Pakistan needs strong and sincere leaders and not cowards.
Also, MQM workers should learn to accept and tolerate criticism. They cannot DEMAND respect from others. They have to EARN respect from others.
2) MQM was involved in extortion during the times of operation against it to survive, which again is unjust but to them it was a necessary evil. Incidentally that fund was used to feed the families of worker/supporters/sympathizers and other innocents that were murdered by agencies. Even today MQM funds thousands of households who cannot support themselves. You may call it parallel tax system which was a necessary evil......the official tax system is just as injust on us whose tax is deducted at source because it is Govt.'s extortion, they ramp up taxes anyway they want and we are helpless to pay it. But today MQM does not force people to donate even though the attitude is the same there is no force, ANP/Lyari gangs (PPP) on the other hand are not only involved in extortion they demand 10 times more then MQM ever did....despite that nobody blames them. Furthermore PPP backed Lyari gangs are involved in kidnappings for ransom all across Karachi yet nobody cares.
Wrong doings cannot be justified in any way or form. Extortion is like robbery.
If MQM wants to differentiate itself from other political parties, it has to adopt people-friendly policies that are not based on unjust practices. MQM can open donation platforms to fund its operations. If MQM actually enjoys true support of the people, it will get donation on regular basis. Other sources of funding can also be explored. With unjust practices, MQM cannot justify its position to others. It will be exploited for its wrong doings and no one would take it seriously.
MQM should learn from PTI.
3) There are only 2 political forces that can form Govt. in Pakistan and even though they have both back stabbed MQM multiple times, MQM simply does not have an alternate. How else are they supposed to serve their voters by sitting in the opposition? People consider it a marriage of convenience but it is actually a bitter pill every time for the betterment of Sindh. Think also about the Pakistani public, they too have been fooled and used multiple times, all promises broken time and again by both the political parties (PPP & PML) yet we are all stuck with them, aren't we? Similarly MQM, too, is stuck with them.
With this mentality, this entire nation will be stuck with these two fraudulent parties. Shaking hands with the DEVIL regardless of convenience or not will hurt you always in the end. This is a moral lesson from real life experiences and even projected in the movies.
People desire a revolutionary political force, which can address their issues and can lead this nation to prosperity. By shaking hands with these back-stabbers, MQM is making a mistake and leaving a negative impression on millions of
nuetral people within the country.
Keep in mind that MQM will never expand with this type of political approach. It will never gain support of the masses and will never grow powerful enough to lead Pakistan.
On the otherhand, PTI is expanding and one day may get the charge of running the country. Thanks to popularity of Imran Khan. However, even PTI has a long way to go for now.
In addition, keep in mind that your honesty is highly appreciated. I hope that my message gets some attention.
