Actually it is still a one man show. We do not have proper democratic parties in our country.
Well there is democracy, suppose if there is not, then why to blame MQM only?
The entire Karachi is not pro-MQM. No need to generalize on this. If you think it is, then you are wrong and if MQM leadership also thinks like this then..... you do the math on violence.
I always referred Majority of the Karachi. You know Majority rules (but though it consists of fools
)
My entire paragraph was about EXTORTION, genius. It is just one of the (known) wrong doings of MQM.
Extortion cannot only be associated with MQM, we have seen various involved in that, even few were linked with Jihadists as well.
It does not matters if MQM workers are mostly poor or not; the policies of MQM define its image. MQM should shun all unjust practices and should aim for people-friendly policies. Those policies should not just favor MQM supporters.
If MQM wants to expand its mandate and represent the people of Sindh in general, it needs to adopt a nuetral posture according to which it shall cater to needs of all.
Here is another sign of controversial policies of MQM:
Sanity brings peace in Sindh | Pakistan | News | Newspaper | Daily | English | Online
during the era of Mustafa Kamal, not only the areas of MQM were focused, even very old problem of water in Liyari and Manora was solved by the same Nazim, which the PPP elected people could not do. The development in Karachi has benefited ALL irrespective of their association. You cannot keep others away from getting benefits of those development projects.
The news you gave link of show the torched buses, you know these buses are owned and run by Urdu Speakers (coming from Nazimabad / New Karachi towards MA Jinnah Road / Saddar / Tower). You can imagine the people getting benefit of the protest.
These so-called peaceful protests by MQM workers resulted in loss of lives and damage of property. Do the math.
It happens all over the Pakistan, not only karachi. Don't forget the peaceful protests on Mall road Lahore as well as we are still calculating the loss suffered by us due to death of Shaheed BB.
And who is stopping MQM from holding free-and-fair elections?
No one, it is for those who blame that Karachi's elections are not free and fair, as I am asking them to get the free and fair elections conducted all over Pakistan in general and Karachi in particular.
