Nomination of DG ISI is my authority: PM Imran Khan says in cabinet meeting today

@16:48, can someone comprehend what this anchor is trying to say? Any seniors ?

First, IK defending IK is nothing less than a joke. But click-baits do translate into cash, and in the absence of any decent laws and judiciary, one is free to mouth off anything and everything.

Second, to address your question, a bluff in favor of Great Infallible Leader. Cant have him looking weak and stupid, can we......

Every puppet of theirs eventually falls out with them. Nawaz was their puppet following the 1990 election, he fell out with them and was removed, even Junejo, as much of a puppet as he was eventually fell out with them. I remarked elsewhere some time ago that IK was the new Junejo.
You left out Bhutto.

IK is a terrible chief executive and his incompetency is exposed big time. $ is devalued to 173 from 152 in few months and not a single word he uttered about devaluation while he has given countless interviews on Afghanistan.

Major depreciation in $ occurred after he made Shaukat Tarin FM. Same Shukat Tirin whose case was pending in NAB and whose name surfaced in pandola papers. Here IK will ignore accountability since he wants accountability only for his opponents.

Making ISI chief should be IK's right but IK wants to make that person as ISI chief who will help him in achieving his political goals not for the country.

Afghanistan is a deflection, create a boogeyman to divert attention from domestic issues and economic chaos.

As to the ISI chief- my questions & comments below:

1) When The PM has access to FIA & IB, then why ISI as well? Is the Army more qualified to appoint and transfer officers or the PM.? Instead of de-politicizing institutions, politicize them more is not in the interest of Pakistan.

2) Nowhere in the Constitution does it state that the PM has the Authority to appoint DG ISI, it was only out of courtesy that this became a norm. There is no legal obligation for the Army to do this.

3) The issue is the Faiz sahab, become more "Catholic than the pope" so to speak, and his replacement, has neutered that crticial asset for IK. Expecting the Army to play ball? Lets see...

He has punched above his weight. Fallout will be there soon unless establishment and Imran Khan doesn't feel it as serious which media is trying to project.

I think its not him. I think its Pakistan itself as an entity is punching above their weight.. the consequences of that are starting to show...all the meetings before the extension and what not from Pentagon.

are coming to bite...all IK needs to do ...stay firm..enemy is fight 6th Gen warfare..create issue from within and then use outside proxy to attack.

Imran gave bajwa the extension candy for this sole reason, so army top brass dont go to far and stay with him

Do You Think US will let Faiz Hameed became COAS?

IK is right. Army has no business becoming and continuing to become a party in politics. Most of us have given them the benefit of the doubt far too long. Not everything Mary Baji says about the establishment is false. Yeah her party benefitted from them but this needs to end now.If they think democracy needs crutches or a "lending hand" then just impose a perpetual marshalla

The Army Generals are corrupt. It is none of COAS business to be meeting political leaders, bypassing elected government and continuously bypassing diplomatic protocols and meeting the US Foreign Officials. If this was a Western country, such a COAS would have his uniform taken from him and paraded naked in front of the media for illegal use of this authority.

SOMEONE SHOULD TELL THIS COAS THAT HE IS HIGHLY UNPOPULAR AMONG ORDINARY PAKISTANIS, AND PEOPLE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF HIS MEDDLING. BY DOING THIS, HE IS BRINGING THE WHOLE MILITARY INTO DISPUTE.

Spot on, can't afford to depict his hollowness.

Good point, Bhutto was also of a similar origin, but he became a pretty powerful civilian leader/tyrant in the early 70s. He’d appoint senior army officers based on his politics and not merit, he’d hammer the opposition and quash dissent. Pakistan has been woefully lacking in democratic ideals, they were thrown out of the window in the 50s and haven’t been back since.

ISI comes under Civilian Jurisdiction , as it works closely with Ministry of Defense

Thus Prime Minister Imran Khan , taking Lead here is normal. The Army was consulted to submit their Top 5-6 Names for consideration

I am sure all names are equally worthy candidates

In end the best Candidate will get the Job who enjoys similar level support from both Head of state and Military as the role collaborates equally with both groups, it is part of Pakistan's constitution

The Private TV channels just need topics to fill out Airtime and daily debate

Military Exercised their Right and Announced selection of HQ-9 SAM !!! That was appropriate response to Private TV channels

Before I answer that, why do you think Ik wants to retain HIM as DG ISI ?

General Qamar Javed Bajwa will remain as the Pakistan Army chief until November 28, 2022

Till that date 20 lieutenant generals of Pakistan will have retired after completing their service period, on different dates. Nineteen of them had been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general on different dates after appointment of General Bajwa as the COAS on Nov 2016.

The last six generals will complete their terms in September 2022. When the incumbent army chief completes his term in November 2022, Adjudicate General GHQ General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, DG Joint Headquarters General Azhar Abbas, IG Communications General Nauman Mahmood and DG ISI General Faiz Hameed Chaudhry will be among senior most generals.
