Imran is correct in his stance, but to wash away their community's contributions to Pakistan is being unfaithful to history. Chaudry Mohd. Zafrullah Khan should be enough of a reminder. he was an instrumental member of Muslim league in fighting for Pakistan politically during partition to secure as much land as possible from being swindled away by Mountbatten/Nehru. he represented the country at UN and spoke fervently for the rights of Palestinians.
Up til '53 they played a large role in building civilian institutions of the country, and even completely funded their own fighting force comprising Ahmadis to liberate Kashmir. Once they started getting killed left and right in the country they fought for, they became disillusioned and preferred exerting efforts in their respective fields abroad (Dr. Abdus Salam, etc)
Also I've read the Lahore Ahmadiya movement was established after splitting from Qadianis, because they did not believe their mirza ahmad to be a prophet but a reformer. maybe an ahmadi member here can clarify whether on this side of border they believe in finality of the Prophet (pbuh)?
Any way, I see no reason to malign them or look down upon what theyve done for the country. rather than spreading hatred which accentuates an environment of more firqawariat, fitna o fasad. I'd rather that their constitutional designation as a non-muslim minority be kept, and welcome both ahmadis and ismailis to accept Islam peacefully.
