What's new

No Maulana Sherani, Quran does not allow a Husband to “Lightly” beat his Wife.

Oh my apologies. Thank for information, so Mr Sherani is an actor but he is also a religious scholar at the same time...an odd combination I must say :haha:
no no  you're getting confused here its Sherani who proposed this bill that CII guy and this article is written by an actor that's what i am saying :P

The CII and all these lizards are trying to keep their control over religion as it is the only source of respect and income for them. Take that away, and most of these folks arent worth shining your shoes

Sir I shared my views on this council on the other thread and asked you to correct me If I am wrong. Would you please check it out and give me your opnions on it. Thanks!

Its quiet funny that we Muslims cannot be agreed upon little things. My interpretation is X , your interpretation is Y. I am right you are wrong. Y is Islamic, X is not Islamic. . Even if you take as simple thing as Hijab you will get 100 people giving their own 100 interpretation. We always want to mold Islam as per our wishes and thinking. We want Islam not as it is but as we want it to be thats why 100 different interpretation no matter you talk about definition of Muslims, topic of hijab, ways of teaching discipline to wives.kids, topic of adultery, apostasy, jihad, punishment in Islam for adultery/stealing etc. Quran clearly suggest punishment of lashes for adultery, Right? Now how many of you will happily take it as it is or you will become defensive or apologist or will start twisting the verses just because you are personally not comfortable with this punishment . Its better to say that i dont believe in Islam then becoming defensive and twisting things which we dont find compatible with our own personal reasoning and logic

The basic example stays.
The Prophet's life is the EXACT interpretation of the Quran. If he did not carry out an act that has been prescribed in the Quran, then that act has been interpreted incorrectly by the "scholar".

These are just the yearnings of a patriarchal society trying to hang onto its power.
The CII and all these lizards are trying to keep their control over religion as it is the only source of respect and income for them. Take that away, and most of these folks arent worth shining your shoes.
This:coffee: good work @Moonlight May Allah give us Hadaeyet and guide us on correct way. Ameen

Reason; on your profile not gonna tell you here.

Aray you haven't listened Nouman Ali Khan before? Dyum. Say No. Okay one of the best person I have come across who explains Quran so amazingly. Start listening him and explore more about him. You will be surpirsed this guy at one time almost gave up on religion and was about to become atheist. Very funny and know how to engage with youth. He understand the problems of young people and knows how to advice them.
Nouman ali khan is fan of Dr israr ahmed and did you listened DR Israr Ahmed tafseer of these verses? listen after 48.00 onwards :D then decide who is more expert? someone whose opinion you shared in opening post who dont claim to be scholar or Dr Israr ahmed who is known as great scholars for deobundi? whom Muslim should follow as two contradictory statement ?

I can't give my opnion without watching the video so give me sometime for that. I know br. Nouman follows dr Israr but he also has great understanding of Quran.

@Proudpakistaniguy done watching the video. Sir Jii where is the contradicted part? He explains his logic and how the is used in Quran, in which context, where, when, and explained it

As per br Nouman following dr Israr, in one of his talk (Nouman) he said he was at dinner with ulmas and different scholars from different school of thoughts were there, the same topic was being discussed and I explained my views, they all agreed on. (Some best scholars and muftis were there). And he said when I asked them if you guys agree with me why don't you guys talk about it and explain it your audience and people in general. They replied, people or listeners are not ready for that. Remember dr Israr must be one best scholar and massive respect for him. But not necessarily he understands everything and has knowledge of everything. Or another person can NOT interpret the verse differently and in better way than his interpretation.
Since br. Nouman is one of his student and maybe they both have discussed on this matter and dr Israr finds his interpretation to be logical.????

I agree with the author and congratulate him. The relation of husband and wife is of love and romance. I think Ms Sherani is talking about light spanking..and not beating. Someone must ask her to elaborate it. Islam asks husband to be the best towards his wife.
Can you elaborate the difference between spanking and beating? Isn't the two things are the same and just different names.

DR israr point is very much same as that of Maulna sherani ..light beating is permitted (even though not mandatory off course) as long as you dont hurt bones or dont make injuries ..

I prefer not to. My views are an opinion.. .the only authority on wrong on right is Allah. In this day and age with all sorts of drawing room scholars and even these CII people.. when we have Quran being taught by saying you only need to know 300 some arabic meanings and the entire Quran can be interpreted; I would keep quiet in this age of Fitnas.

I can only point to one of my sources for interpreting the Quran. If you wish, you can use it for reference.

The other person for those who have lesser time is Professor Rafique Akhter.

Like the torture method applying for investigation to a criminal? I mean no wound mark appear on body?

Believe me your life will be much better if you focus on treating your wife with care and affection my friend. That is also good for hereafter if you a Muslim and believe in the life after death. Beating part is misunderstood, I think it is just about spanking

Quran is the word of Allah which can be interpreted in many ways as to fit the social norms of the time and this is one of the biggest miracles of Quran.

What do you think about her interpretation than?

Pakistanis and Indians try to make out different meanings of Arabic words, the language not native to them. Famous example is Zakir Naik who spins the words and presents to the audience in a manner which is suitable to them. Only a native Arab can say what those words really meant.
