No Hindus will be left in Bangladesh after 30 years: researcher

LoL at how desperate India are to take our BD Hindus.

It's a bit obvious Indian born Bengali Hindus last generation are useless. Maybe they see more chance of talents being created from having more Bdeshi-Bengali Hindus in the mix of the population. Look at the backgrounds of most the 'Indian Bengali': Famous personality, film actors, business owners, singers, influential people, etc - It all needed the help of Bangladesh born; grandads, parents, fathers, uncles. (To produce the goods moving over or taking over there). Because most of their forefathers, grandads, dads; originally came from Bangladesh. Few example: and first biggest one is the one of Rabindronath Tagore his family were from Jessore, Bangladesh, the economist Amartya Sen (created by Bdeshis parents) is actually born in Manikganj, Bangladesh so he is actually a Bangladeshi too :D! Kolkata famous actress Srabanti father is from Barisal, that billionaire guy who owns Sahara india something Roy his father was from Bikrampur, BD. List goes on, just search Indian Bengalis with Bangladeshi roots.

Also in cricket, Look after Ganguly no Indian bengalis (from WB, a big province) have represented India and done well in cricket. Maybe GOI is seeking more Bdeshi Hindu parents to produce some new talents which they lack. and have a worthy hard working class unlike their own born, talentless useless bunch can't produce any talents neither.

India has had many of the following BENGALIs, in terms of: influential personality, business people, film and music stars, Nobel peace winner, economist, physicist, list goes on. All thanks to the Bangladeshi born male sp.rm.

So Indians out there. Be greateful to Bangladesh. :D we created many of whom you claim are your geniuses!!

there is nothing in the make-up Bangladesh and the general outlook of its people which will lead to an existential crisis that will force them to choose their religion or co-religionists over their country and nationality.
During the months of February and March many Bihari Muslim families were killed and their women were raped by Bengali mobs in Chitagong and other places in East Pakistan after Yahya Khan postponed the national assembly or something. They were accused of being West Pakistani agents and killed without provocation. If I remember correctly that was the prime reason behind the launching of Operation Searchlight and thousands of Bihari men and women whose family members had been killed by Bengalis joined civilian paramilitary forces like Al Shams and Al Badr against the Bengali nationalists to take revenge.

My point is if the religious identity of Bangladeshis was so strong they wouldn't have targeted Bihari Muslims, their own Muslim brothers, and killed them. In my opinion Bengali Muslims couldn't get over this language barrier ( Bengali Language Movement???) and refused to accept Bihari Muslims as one of their own simply because they spoke a different language. Being from the same religion wasn't enough to consider them as one of your own during United Pakistan period, I suspect the same racist feelings towards Bihari Muslims still exist in your country, after seeing what BD posters on this forum write about them.

You are very misinformed regarding the genesis of events leading up to 1971. In addition you have failed will fully or unknowingly to recognise the your false flagging countrymen who troll the BD thread.

Bihari brothers? No one cares about them.We are more close to our west bengali brothers in terms of culture and language.

Bihari ain't our concern.Bengali and biharis have nothing in common not counting religion.
I don't know what else to infer from such posts. Kindly enlighten me if you got some different interpretation

You know everything happens for a reason. Why would those Bihari Muslims who were your own countrymen suddenly take up arms against their own Bengali Muslim brethren? Its a fact that Bengali mobs massacred Bihari Muslims and committed numerous other atrocities against them in the months leading up to Operation Searchlight. Biharis didn't support secession from Pakistan which would lead to breakup of Muslim nation. Bengali nationalists couldn't digest their stance and ended up killing them out of anger.

There was a lot of ethnic hatred among Bengalis during that time. They didn't accept Bihari Muslims as their countrymen because they spoke a different language. Biharis in my opinion were the most unfortunate people in BD. They are still suffering in camps today because they chose their country over province. Quite tragic in my opinion. Personally I don't have much respect for bangladeshis who kill people just because they speak different language. An extremely xenophobic and horrific mindset.

lol OK

TV sets around the world have Brightness button, I bet in India TVs also have a dumbness button and you adjust that switch based on what dumb show you want to watch...I am sure you learned about all those laws you mentioned from your TV shows.

I do not feel any need to rehash that I and others have already gone over. There are several threads in the Bihari issue in the forum, please have a look.

That is some patent untruth you just finished commenting on.

Biharis were not repatriated to Pakistan (though Biharis applied for immigration to Pakistan and Pakistan refused to take them) and they still live in Bangladesh in camps. Most have moved out of the camp, after growing up in Bangladesh, learning Bengali and are indistinguishable from local Bengalis as far as eligibility for jobs, social services or being a citizen of Bangladesh with full rights. Some people do speak Urdu at home and no Bengali gives two sh*ts about it. Why should they?

Bangladesh is not a narrow-minded communal hell-hole like some places (cow belt) in India are. Hindus are probably one of the most cossetted minorities in Bangladesh compared to any country. They hold the majority of administrative jobs in govt. (especially police), far exceeding their representation in Bangladeshi society.

What most people in India fail to fathom, is that Biharis were used as pawns in the game Pakistani administration played through Bhutto in 1971, and Indian Chaiwala administration is now using Bengali Hindus from Bangladesh in the same manner today, rented fifth columnists used as an excuse to portray the nation of Bangladesh in a bad communal light while distracting worldwide opinion from the real issue - horrendous communalism in India itself, thanks to the likes of BJP, RSS and Shivsena.

These Indian Bengali extremists (Muktomona et al) are spreading horrendous lies. Muslim villages get burned down all the time from political violence, no one cares. But if one Hindu gets slapped, its the fault of the Bangladesh govt.??

So - to quote an old British era proverb, oil your own machine!

Look at the sad communal situation in India, which is a hundred times worse than in Bangladesh, try to do something about it instead of coming to Bangladesh scheming about crap.

No one in Bangladesh trusts what Indian govt. says or does (the feeling is pervasive). You can try for hundreds of years, that credibility gap will never be overcome. So stop trying.

If we start posting pictures and stories on the topic of Indian communal hatred, there will be no end in sight, I assure you....

If anyone is aware of the research can anyone explain to what extent the research carried by Abul Barakat is reliable as Priya Saha yesterday used this research as her justification of the claim?

@Bilal9 @Homo Sapiens @bluesky @Bengal71 @mb444 @TopCat @UKBengali any input on this?

All lies, and fabricated 'alternative truths'.

You cannot prevent Hindus from leaving Bangladesh and going over to India if (they believe) their life will be better there. India after all has some well paying jobs for educated folks.

But Bengalis also get discriminated heavily in India (especially Western and Northern Part). What the heck - we saw in Kolkata itself in some videos, they advertised 'No Bengalis need apply' (or some such situation) for back-office jobs.

However India at the end of the day is a far bigger place with more opportunities. So if Hindus want to leave, you cannot stop them.

We have to realize and be very clear on the fact that Hindus are leaving Bangladesh for better opportunities elsewhere (including in India), not because they are persecuted in Bangladesh. I do not believe that there is one iota of truth in that pablum 'research' piece from that Abul Barakat guy, and this is all part of the RSS/BJP Chaiwala agenda to paint Bangladesh in a bad light as always. Some friend. With friends like these, who needs enemies? :disagree:

NW and Mumbai area Indians are huge racists, much more so compared to the situation in Bangladesh. I have heard from Kolkata Bengalis about this personally. So going over to India is not the panacea solution some Hindus think it is

There are plenty of deshdrohi traitors all over Bangladesh, and they come in various flavors and beliefs. We should stop paying these people heed for their lies and use the rule of law to take care of them, such as sedition charges. Taking them to court (eventually jail) on a regular basis will solve the issue. If this was India, they would bring a mob and lynch these people publicly. I am glad we are better than this.

What about Muslims in India ? I heard their number is decreasing at very rapid pace ?
Hindu reproduction rate has reduced and now muslim reproduction rate is coming down. So it's good for Indians.

Do anybody have access to 1981 census? As far as i can remember in my entire life HINDUs were always 10-12%

Hindu population reduction happened mainly during East Pakistan period. After independence, not much reduction occur. First census of independent Bangladesh in 1974 recorded 13.5 percent Hindus. Now it is 10.7 percent. This small reduction is mainly due to lower fertility among hindus and voluntary migration to India. Very few gone to India due to persecution after independence. But when asked any Bangladeshi background Hindus in India reason to migrate, they usually cite persecution as a reason. Because this is the surest way to settle and get citizenship for them in India. That's why there is a widespread perception in India that persecution against Hindus in Bangladesh is rampant. But this is far from truth.

http://www.deccanchronicle.com/worl...-in-bangladesh-after-30-years-researcher.html
Dhaka: Eminent Bangladeshi economist and researcher Dr Abul Barkat has estimated that there will be no Hindus left in the country after three decades.

"The rate of exodus over the past 49 years points to that direction," the Dhaka University teacher said in his book "Political economy of reforming agriculture-land-water bodies in Bangladesh" published yesterday.

He said that from 1964 to 2013, around 11.3 million Hindus left Bangladesh due to religious persecution and discrimination, which means on an average 632 Hindus left the country each day and 230,612 annually, reports the Dhaka Tribune.

From his 30-year-long research, Barkat found that the exodus mostly took place during military governments after independence.

Before the Liberation War, the daily rate of migration was 705 while it was 512 during 1971-1981 and 438 during 1981-1991. The number increased to 767 persons each day during 1991-2001 while around 774 persons left the country during 2001-2012, the book says.

Another Professor Ajoy Roy said the government grabbed the properties of the Hindus during the Pakistan regime describing them as enemy property and the same properties were taken by the government after independence as vested property.

According to the book, these two measures made 60 percent of the Hindus landless.

Retired Justice Kazi Ebadul Haque said the minorities and the poor were deprived of their land rights adding that the land management system should be reformed.

Dhaka University Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed said that the government has to ensure that the indigenous people would not be affected or harmed.
actually problem is , when they die , they again come back to Santana dharma . :azn::azn:
