But Buddha himself didn't Hinduism anymore,

Partially true,though not accurate

maybe the Hindu community has considered him as a traitor.
Wrong!
In Hinduism he is considered as an avatar

Maybe because of his racial background, he felt no affiliation with the Hinduism.
Wrong!
There is no evidence suggesting if the Shakya clan saw themselves of a different race or ethnic group from the other Mahajanapadas.

.
You are making up B.S. No Buddhist text ever mention that he seek enlightenment because of his RACE!! You are bring that up here. He was a well off kshatriya, soon to be a king!

Maybe Buddha in the ancient claimed he was a Kirat, not an Aryan.

.
But Buddha and his people have no sworn allegiance with the Hinduism because of the racial descrimination against them.

Same as the Pakistani people chose to voluntarily become Muslims, no one was putting the sword on their neck.

Don't show your ignorance on these issues.

It is frankly becoming embarrassing.

.
Why are you guys debating this with a commu? they dont even have religion :woot:

Let me try this one last time ;

Vajrayana Buddhists of the Arunachal,Sikkim area consider their religion as a subsect of the Dharmic religion (Sanatana Dharma) and their rituals and practises involves a significant amount of Hindu rituals. There is a member Tshering22 here and maybe he can clarify it a bit more than I can.

As for the Islamic conversions it was not entirely through sword nor was it entirely voluntary. But its better we dont go there as it is completely offtopic.

.
Islam first came to India via arab traders in places like Gujarat this is from world history not from commu china state propaganda

Kirat people lives in eastern Nepal. Not right near Uttar Pradesh,Bihar-Nepal border. Where Buddha's fathers kingdom was!

Kirats were considered barbarians back then, not warrior caste!! Like Buddha and his family.

@ChineseTiger

Just curious is that you in your avatar pic? If so, those girls seem fairly young :blink:

I really don't know why people jump into such complicated problems with not the slightest background or information regarding the problem. This is a debate that has been going on for more than 200 years, and there are several current versions of the historiography of India under vigorous promotion by supporters of different points of view.

Be aware that what has been projected here and ascribed to Rajiv Malhotra is the standard Hindutvavadi+Sangh Parivar+BJP line, complete biased nonsense which deserves no encouragement or air space. I am appalled that this should be dragged out and displayed again and again, with no effort at learning the background of these theories.

I totally agree with you , only motivated history by Romila Thappad and he fan(blind) shoul be allowwed to give us lessions in Hisotry .

It doesn't matter whether they based on facts or not but they have to be secular in the peculiar indian sense of secularism.

If some one is wondering what is seclul historian and how does they qualify real historical facts ??

let me give you an example what can describe the logical equivalent of the approach of secular historians of India :

if I say a girl has been raped by bandits.

A secular historian will blame girl for the gruesome act instead of the bandit and point out its wealth of the girl that attracted the bandit and her beuty aroused animal lust forcing him to rape her.

So lets hail bunch of Marxist secular indian historian we got,what ya say ??

BTW i've popsted a very interesting article by the same author Rajiv Malhotra of the OP titled "Tolerance Isn't Good Enough: The Need for Mutual Respect In Interfaith Relations"

Kirats were peaceful people just like their Tibetan cousins.

Why you call them barbarians? :cry:
