KOHAT: At least nine militants and a woman were killed in security forces’ shelling of militant hideouts in Darra Adamkhel and Bara areas on Saturday.
Five militants were killed and two hideouts were destroyed in shelling by jetfighters in Darra Adamkhel, official sources said.The sources said that the jetfighters pounded the hideouts of the militants in Sherkhel and Baz areas, leaving five militants dead. Besides, two hideouts were also destroyed in the shelling.
Meanwhile, the bomb disposal unit officials defused two rocket shells found on Lakki Road.Our correspondent adds from Bara: At least four militants and a woman were killed and eight others, including two women and child, were injured in shelling by choppers in Akakhel area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency on Saturday, official and tribal sources said.
The sources said that two helicopters shelled the hideouts of militants in Mirantalab area of Bara tehsil, leaving four militants and a woman killed. Eight persons, including five militants, two women and a child, were injured in the shelling. The injured civilians were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar for treatment.Two hideouts and a vehicle of militants were badly damaged in the air-strikes, locals said.
