America was founded on the mistrust of government [British].
OK.
White Americans hate paying more taxes
Reasonable. In fact no one in any country should have to pay taxes. Taxation I think is a leftover from feudal and monarchic times.
It is common for an American to say, I hate my government, but I love my country. This is ideological.
Well, that should be the expected behavior in any Capitalist country ( including India and Pakistan ) for patriots who wish to see the current governance system replaced by a progressive political, socio-economic and technological system.
They don't trust government to provide good public health care, although for military they will pay with pride.
Now that is a contradiction. A wrong.
Much of their social welfare is done by individuals, businesses, local communities and church organizations.
Again, a wrong path even if done with good intentions. Social welfare is the job of the governance system ( whether a modern Western-style parliamentary system or a Communist people's-rule system ). Otherwise there's no reason for the governance system to exist.
One of their biggest complaints is against making government social welfare big, although it is quite big, but not big enough to take care of mental issues.
If they immediately stop Capitalism in their country and the government's artificial need to maintain a massive invasions-oriented military and the consequent militarization of society and instead remake their society into a harmonious, welfare-based one then most mental problems will disappear.
So, yes they have some ideological problem. I think they need to expand health care and spend less on military. Much of terrorism is a mental issue, people violently triggered by politics. Not enough research in this area.
Well, one needs to ask what is the description of "Terrorism". The American governments and their allies since end of World War 2 have terrorized and slaughtered others on a huge scale.
