New trailer of Dracula Untold (Dracula vs Fatih the Conqurer)

Vlad tepes is deomonized by austro-hungarians, bram stoker made him a supernatural monster, to his countrymen
in Transylvania he was a great king and hero, who was honest and brutal in enforcing the rules, It's said that in his rule you could leave a golden cup at the town square fountain and it will still be there all the time, Suggests that there were no robbers, thieves at that time.
He did have some fanstastic strategies like poisoning the pools, ponds where the ottomans used to drink, impaling turks sent a psychological fear into turkish armies, who thought him as some monster and yes that tactic worked. The Austro-Hungarian armies too were jealous of his successes in Battlefield, so they made up stories to make him a monster to take away the credit of winning battles against the turks.
There is nothing Supernatural about Vlad Tepes only that he was a good and strong king who defended his country against overwhelming numbers of ottoman empire.

Another great king was Stefan Cel Mare(Stephen the Great).

Some of you make it look like that this guy was godlike.......
In the end he was executed and his head was put on a spike

He was a good king to his people and terror to his enemies. That itself should be enough.

Wallachia was literally a midgeot compared to the Ottoman Empire. The fact that he took arms to fight for several years, while at home traitor boyars were plotting against him,it's an achievement by himself.

@wolfschanzze is right,it's unfair that Vlad has this reputation today, most medieval rulers were cruel and quick to execute their enemies, and for most Romanians it's sad that he was transformed into a silly monster by Germano-Hungarian propaganda and a sensationalist author like Stoker.

Vlad Tepes- Dracula was cruel, but to not forget that a cruel atmosphere dominated Europe in those times, from Russia to France! On the other hand, even if Vlad Tepes- Dracula is a very popular character in the world, many people really do not really know his true story!

There are a lot of books, articles, web sites, etc, about Prince Vlad, but weak of them treat his deeds according to the historical truth; or worse, present them distorted! When he became ruler of Walachia in the spring of 1456, he found the country in a very bad situation corruption of the nobels etc. But his administrative decisions are less known today as everybody writes only about the impalement or cruelty! But the fact is that he had a lot of enemies!

I have read some news on some websites about this movie, some of which describe it as christian vs. muslim war, and the trailer calls it ''evil'', i think if some one hits the right buttons , then no muslim and muslim-dominated country will give tolerate even though it is claimed as fantasy movie..

And Mongolians....don't forget Timurlane. ;)

timur's origin is obscure. though his tribe, barlas was named as one of kamagh mongol tribes, some newly discovered writings point to barlas being turkic tribe. i'll share the article as soon as it gets published. also, timur's army consisted of mixed turco-mongol tribes (but mongols of that period were already heavily turkified. they spoke turkic language and were culturally turks and their ratio in population was around 3 turk: 1 mongol). army mainly consisted of karluk and kipchak tribes.

I wouldnt count Timur as Mongolian since he always identified himself as an Uzbek

while timur was of chagatia cultural sphere, uzbek was first used for people of eastern great steppe (dasht-i kipchak) sometime around 1370s. so, no, he wouldn't and couldn't name himself as uzbek. for, they were his enemies from golden horde cultural sphere.

Yesterday Ben Kendrick published a intresting interview with Dominic Cooper. You can imagine how the plot will be it is verry intresting, because they actually grew up together (Mehmed 2 and Vlad) It is also about brotherhood.

I cant put links yet, but if you google ''dracula-untold-movie-dominic-cooper-interview'' you will find the article.

For example:

So what’s the relationship between you and Vlad in the sense of – what’s the evolution of it? What’s the mark of the relationship?

DC: Well they have a history as kids and my take on it is that he has always been terribly envious of this boy who is called in to his father’s palace and I like the relationship to be based in envy, jealously, and resentment. I think he saw Vlad as being a better fighter, a stronger, stronger mind, and physically and I think his dad was aware of this. So this is something that’s ongoing and is punctuated in the story itself and that comes to a head. We’ve kind of put these extra ideas in it. On my father’s death bed it was Vlad who he chose to speak to. Because I think he trusted him more as a warrior, as a future leader. So there was a clever bit of writing they came up with right in the beginning of shooting, and I loved it when I read it. It was about him desperately trying to understand or find out what it was that the father had shared with Vlad and not himself. And he can tell he’s being lied to when Vlad comes out with this elaborate, over the top, kind words that he knows are not true. As revenge I do to him really in a way what my father did – which is to ask and insist upon taking his son into battle. I only do that for one reason and it’s to anger him and upset him. That’s the basis of the beginning of the story, and then the big battle begins.

Really intresting, but historically inaccurate.

No,he wasn't,he was just a man of his time trying to defends his small country. His enemies and vampire groopies made a mockery of his legacy. Most medieval rulers were cruel,it was a cruel world back then.

Were all of them impaled their enemies through their arses by the thousands kinds of evil?

Most historians would agree that even by Medieval standard. Vlad the Impaler was exceptionally evil even in those times.

1499 German woodcut showing Dracule waide dining among the impaled corpses of his victims.

Woodcut from the title page of a 1499 pamphlet published by Markus Ayrer in Nuremberg. It depicts Vlad III "the Impaler" (identified as Dracole wyade = Draculea voivode) dining among the impaled corpses of his victims.

The german chroniclers were biased because Vlad had differences with the Saxon (german) settlers of Kronsdtadt (Brasov-in today's Transylvania) who mounted a propaganda war against him.

It must awkward for Turks and Romanians watching this movie :D.

Not really, probably most of us will laugh at the sillyness of the movie and the way they'll depict historical characters on both sides.
