It shouldn't matter if I'm Indian or Pakistan, all you need to do is look at what I'm saying. Don't just disagree with someone because they're not Pakistan.
Hey i was just replying and correcting to the part where i called you Indian. Not the rest of my response

It is an Indian design, don't be so nationalistic. India has been working on the Tejas for a very long time, and have plans to eventually remove all foreign components from the fighter, so it very much is an Indian fighter.

I disagree. What they've learned is invaluable, and will most likely go towards building their next gen fighter. They didn't just sit on their asses and just put part together without learning a thing or two about fighter designs.

Then why even have this argument, if not to argue? Should it matter if India's design is foreign or domestic? According to your logic, this argument shouldn't even have started.

It's severely behind schedule, not that it has failed to deliver. This is a common misconception, which is used against other fighters as well, namely the F-35.

Why? I'm not the one buying this stuff.
1. American GE F414 engine
2. Israeli Elta EL/M-2032 multi-mode radar
3. Israeli Elbit-furnished DASH helmet-mounted display and sight (HMDS)
4. French Sextant multi-function displays (MFDs)
5. British Martin-Baker zero-zero ejection seat
6. Israeli Rafael laser pod
7. Russian GSh-23 cannon
8. Russian/Israeli missiles

Still no induction to be seen.
And our arch rival stuck with soviet relics with no solution out except another billion dollars in something new

As far as they waste Indian resources like water on such projects instead of getting something productive and creating more problem.
I am very happy believe me. :D:D

Being a nationalist is one thing (and i am)
Being stupidly critical is another (which i am not). Its reality. India and Saudi Arabia are the most stupid defence establishments in the world when it comes to defence procurements. You can disagree of course. Its a democracy :D:D:D:D:D
Cheers

It seems my words were ignored.

Good going, this fighter development has progressed much better then Tejas which keeps on developing :(
India is making satellites, why not aircrafts? The problem is again the direction of attention. When India will decide " no matter what, Indian is the best" , only then Tejas will fly with full of its capabilities.

.
how come india make successful helis but not planes... i bet palnes are easier to manufactured.... :what:
Indian light helicopter is BOLKO-Blohm 115 with minor external and internal changes and French Engines, partially assembled in India. Germany played a big part and provides a large number of parts as far as I know.

Why J-11, J-16, SU -3x series will never ever ever be in Pakistan's colors? See operating cost versus operational capability below. Why Pakistan with its limited budget shoot in its foot by buying such white elephants when you can have similar or better capability with other fighters at lower operating cost. Operating cost is the key word here. (take SU family as a reference.

this chart is made by saab to promote grippen
and is highly flawed

Isn't this a clever psychological move to get all the thanks from Pak posters???

He is pretty much a neutral poster. Keeps his views to himself and does not get involved in flame wars :-). Plus gives credit to anyone where it is due

To promote Gripen, yes. They would have placed their aircraft favourably. But highly flawed? No, MiGs and SU-27 variants are known to have very high operating cost. We are not debating capability here. Operating cost which is important to country like Pakistan.

1. Kaveri engine tried but failed. Still dry thrust is adequate and used in other platforms . We are going for new design for AMCA
2. MMR is partially indian , troubled parts replaced with Israel parts, AESA is Israeli, indian UTTAM AESA is in development
3.
4. MFD JV with India s Samtel
6.
7.
8. Sudarshan LGB, Astra AAM is in development .

These are pretty good enough for my tax money.

All to do with the doctrine of necessity........you have lots of money to invest in procurement, we are limited to indignation (with external help).

.
No worries. The tejas is being built from scratch, and without any foreign help (despite having a number of foreign parts). I've always thought of India's Tejas project as more of an experiment for future platforms, rather than being a platform in and of itself (even if India plans to deploy the fighter soon, in large numbers). Tejas' slow development was expected, so there is nothing for you to get too sad over.
Are we talking about famous Indian space ship called TEJAAS , oh that shouldn't be compared with a fighter jet ?
