Why beating yourself up over a failure of a weapon system? By that ridiculous reasoning, US F-22 is a piece of junk because it also has crashed and been destroyed because of faulty parts, not once, but 4 times actually.

SM-2 is a premiere air-defense missile, it fails sometimes too.

S-300 is still among the most feared air-defense systems on earth and NATO respects the heck out of it. So much so it regularly trains against older versions used by NATO and NATO partner nations and has an electronic warfare mimic of the system called the Joint Threat Emitter.

Mock S-300 all you want. It's still one damn good piece of kit and a feared weapon system.

S-300 is one of the systems deployed...

All the other systems are Iranian made !
