Netaji files are not likely to be declassified any-time soon.

the files will have will no effect on our relations with Russia. It doesnt matter that Stalin held Bose imprisoned. he ony did so, after someone in the Indian gov't asked to do so. The onus of spinning this around and making it seem our relations with another country will be harmed is utter BS. Our ppl need to see the truth which is who and why a certain leader allowed for Bose to never set foot back in India!

IB reports made public, reveal Jawaharlal Nehru spied on Subhash Chandra Bose's family for 20 years

New Delhi: Two recently de-classified Intelligence Bureau files reveal that former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru spied on the family of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose for two decades from 1948 to 1968. Nehru died on May 27, 1964 and spying continued for four years even after his death.

Apart from allegedly intercepting and copying letters written by Bose's family members, the agency sleuths shadowed them on their domestic and foreign travels. The agency seemed especially keen to know to whom Bose's family met and their discussion.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader MJ Akbar claimed that the government was unsure whether Bose was dead. Akbar said Bose was the only charismatic leader who could have mobilised and united the opposition parties against Congress, and offer it a serious challenge in the 1957 elections.

Bose's grandnephew Chandra Kumar demanded a judicial probe into the spying. He said, "It has definitely come as a shock because he was pretty close to Jawaharlal Nehru both, you know, in a personal relationship, he always used to come and stay in our house. Well, politically they differed on certain issues but we never expected that Pandit Nehru would put surveillance on Subhash Bose's family members.

"Narendra Modi claims that his government is transparent government. This is a golden an opportunity for him to prove that he believes in transparency. He should order a judicial inquiry a commission of inquiry which should come out wit the actual truth," he added.

Janata Dal United KC Tyagi called the reports unfortunate. He said, "I find it hard to believe Nehru spied on Bose's family. If what is being reported is true, it is very unfortunate."

The BJP took on the Congress over the revelations and claimed Nehru was scared of Bose. Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy hit out at the Congress saying, "I have known this all along. I want Congress to respond to report. This proves that Nehru was scared of Subhash Chandra Bose. This shows how paranoid Nehru was about Subhash Chandra Bose."

Swamy's party colleague and Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "The Congress has a tainted past and there are many skeletons in their cupboard. I won't be surprised if Nehru did in fact spy on Bose's family for 20 years."

I told you all before. Netaji died in Siberia because Nehru turned a blind eye to harbor his personal ambitions. Im not exactly sure about the Gandhi and Jinnah angle but anything is possible. We were stuck with British servants rather than an Independent revolutionary. I hope we Indians never forget what these crooks did to a hero of Mother India. Makes my blood boil when I see the Gandhi's holding onto power for 60 f-king yrs!

How do you explain the Japanese and the plane crash in Taiwan ? There is no reason for the Japanese to lie.

Soviets would not hold on to Bose. They even released all Nazi generals by 1955. Soviet-Indian relations were in the cold until the mid-1950s.
