Need to establish a Joint Task Force: PGCC (Pakistan + Gulf countries)

Very well said. This is the sad conclusion most have come to.

Although, a union between blocs, regions and countries is a good thing. Especially if trade binds countries and regions. Fauji has a point that a proper well organized bloc is the way forward. Even a military one.

An economic bloc would, in my professional point of view, would and should be pursued by Pakistan. Pakistan should learn from Japan and Turkey in regards to foreign affairs strategy: focus is on regional pragmatism , taking no sides in any conflict.

Pakistan does not need to join any so called "military bloc" because Pakistan is already a military power in her own right, Pakistan is a nuclear armed power and could vaporize any nation that is within her nuclear reach. Pakistan will never be invaded by an army, period.

What does Pakistan gain in joining a military block with nations in the Gulf? Can we honestly say that these states will come to the aid of Pakistan in the event of war? Honestly? Of course not; the GCC nations have diminutive militaries (with the exception of KSA) compared to Pakistan Armed Forces and such a bloc would most likely try to benefit from Pakistan's massive Armed Forces. Again let me reiterate the theme of my post, which is -- the rhetorical question , "How Does Pakistan Benefit from this military bloc?"

This military bloc is unidirectional. No. Pakistani blood and the blood of her noble soldiers should not be sent to bleed for foreign states and foreign people. Militarily Pakistan should solidify her position in South and Southwest Asia. Economically she should expand liberally with all relevant states and do so pragmatically.

Pakistan answers to no power. Not to the KSA, UAE, USA, etc. Answer only to God and country.

Pakistan is a giant of 180 million. Engaging in proxy wars of diminutive states half the world away is beneath Pakistan Military.

Bhai Jaan (or is it Behn Ji? :-) ),

Please do not forget that it is much much much much easy to start with smaller group and slowly increase in number of the active members.

Most of the successful companies and organizations start small and grow over time.

OIC is HUUUUUUUUUUUGE group of countries and thus impossible to form.

GCC on the other hand was much easier to form. Few countries, smaller set of objectives and thus a relatively active group of countries.

Adding one country too GCC and make it PGCC is much easier.

Hope this helps.
hmm, well no harm in trying, but it will be difficult still

. .
So this PGCC taskforce will be used to protect both Pakistan and the GCC countries territorial integrity?

off course meray bhai. Off course.

Imagine Pakistani army's fight against Talib-astards.

PGCC would have been a huge help in providing air-cover, as this is where they can help us.

And this is based on 2015 assessment.

Faast forward to 2050 when such organization become mature. Then guess what?

It can face even bigger challenges.

peace to you.

Bhai jaan.

your post ignores the following:

In 2015, If Pakistan itself can act as a power bigger than Iran, and comparable to India in defensive capacty.
then you add GCC, what you get is at least better than we have now (without PGCC).

If PGCC holds until 2050. Then their is no way we will be better off without one.

please update your logic.

The GCC countries will never risk their men and jets for us. Firstly they are already stretched as it stands (which is why they need Pakistan/Egypt in the first place!). The biggest help they can give is to clamp down on sources of funding within UAE and Saudi Arabia for radical madrassas in Pakistan which breed suicide bombers and bolster the ranks of the TTP. As it stands they dont seem to be doing much on this hence why we should show take a step back from further engagement with them till they take our security concerns seriously. Any further engagement has to be mutually beneficial, our soldiers are not cannon fodder that can be thrown around here and there by the Saudis/Emiratis whenever they wish.

acting as powerful and a military help in a time of large conflict is different. It is the last thing a country wanna involve in a conflict of nuclear powers. I really does not see any pragmatism in this.
