The FATA is Pakistani territory? If yes, then Pakistan army and police has the responsibility to keep it under Pakistani control, isn't that right?

Now since Pakistan army and police do not control the area and have ceded control to Afghans, Arabs and such, this leaves the problem for both Pakistan and her neighbors - you can't blame others for knowing their enemy even if some Pakistanis seem to have trouble knowing theirs.

The big thing here is Sovereignty..... Drone strikes are done with a deal with ISI and others giving out locations and targets....otherwise with no ground they cant target such high value BOZOS.......

This is a clear violation of the LAW (if u know wat i mean)...... i remember an incident when NATO fired at Pakistani border check post martyring 1 or 2 Soldier(May Allah bless them.Ameen)....after tht the army and F.C was ordered to return fire with all the fire power available... and when they did NATO was shyttin there pants and begging em to stop on the wireless...

A former Nato officer said the incursions, only one of which has been previously reported, occurred between 2003 and 2008, involved helicopter-borne elite soldiers stealing across the border at night, and were never declared to the Pakistani government.

"The Pakistanis were kept entirely in the dark about it. It was one of those things we wouldn't confirm officially with them," said the source, who had detailed knowledge of the operations.

Such operations are a matter of sensitivity in Pakistan. While public opinion has grudgingly tolerated CIA-led drone strikes in the tribal areas, any hint of American "boots on the ground" is greeted with virulent condemnation.

And oh BTW the equipment from NATO/US forces in Afghanistan often end up in markets.

Some is snatched by fighters there and some is sold by the NATO/US soldiers even exchanged for getting hash

U REALLY believe that the US is only gonna operate in the afghan territory???As long as their objectives are met they would not mind crossing any border.

But look on the brighter side, they are making the task easier for pak`s armed forces. Not only can they they avoid loosing lives, also they can save grace from answering to radical elements within their nation who question US of A`s WOT amd pak`s involvement...

apparently, mutually worked-out RoEs allow such an operation if the forces across the border are engaged and in hot pursuit; as long as it isnt beyond 6 miles into Pakistani territory
