Nato forces kill 30 ( in ) Pakistan

"Pakistan denies having such an agreement while US officials refuse to offer on the record comments on this issue."

Yes, Musharaf gov also denied the drone 'pact'--came out to be a white lie---

.
Why did US release this news in public? It would only help to create more sympathy for terrorists.

.
This is just a new beginning.

Combat troops WITHOUT the permission of Pakistani gov will enter soon. More to follow--

Even if the news isn't true or something...

I stand firm on my views--I am stating this on the forum from last year over and over again.

.
What is this? If this is the price to pay for aid, then say no to it.

.
these portals are copying the same from others.

Am logging off trying to contact some people located in bordering area with Afghanistan.

I am sure this figure of 30 given by Americans is a bull. i am fearing they have killed many civilians.

Not a good news. No location nothing. these yankees are just blindly killing

How do you know that civilians also been killed? Do you ever complain/doubt when Pakistan army release its numbers for killings also? And in common sense, why the hell US choppers will spend its energy to cross inside Pakistan to kill civilians!
Yes, you can show ur sympathy surely for those terrorists, which are acting as a strategic tool for you.

BBC News - Nato helicopters kill 'dozens of rebels' in Pakistan

Nato-led forces say they have killed more than 50 insurgents on Pakistani soil after a rare pursuit across the border from Afghanistan.

Two Apache helicopters from the International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) in Afghanistan are said to have taken part in the weekend's operation.

It followed an attack by insurgents on an Afghan security outpost in Khost.

Isaf said no civilians were killed in the operation, but this has not been independently confirmed.

The BBC's Ian Pannell in the Afghan capital, Kabul, says that although manned military raids over the border are not unprecedented, it will no doubt prove controversial in Pakistan.

In a statement, Isaf said Afghan forces in the eastern province of Khost were attacked on Friday by "a significant number of insurgents".

"An air team in the area observed the enemy fire, and following International Security Assistance Force rules of engagement, crossed into the area of enemy fire."

Isaf told the BBC its aircraft killed 49 insurgents.

On Saturday, two Apache helicopters came under small-arms fire from the same area and again crossed the border, killing four to six insurgents, said Isaf.

Pakistani media said fighters from the Haqqani network, a branch of the Afghan Taliban which operates in Pakistan, died in the Nato air raids.

An Isaf spokesman, Sgt Matt Summers, confirmed the helicopters had crossed into Pakistan.

But he did not reveal the location of the operation or say which Isaf countries' forces were involved.

American forces regularly use drone aircraft for missile strikes in Pakistan's tribal belt, but manned air raids across the border are rare.

Isaf's force was established by the UN in late 2001 with a stated mission of promoting security and development; it is also training Afghan soldiers and police.

Same thing happens with the PKK they jump over to attack something and then try to run back. We just cross the border to pursue them.

May be the sign of frustration. With all the damage the NATO and allied forces are facing in Afghanistan with no chance of any improvement in the situation, this might be the frustrated attempt by those NATO forces who are uncertain about their future and this war.

i think you are partially correct. NATO is finally making the choice between allowing safe havens in Pakistan for the terrorists and pissing off Pakistan. Looks like they are making the right choice

and Pakistan will not do anything about it, it has been and always will be going on until someone does something about it, especially the military I'm suprised that they didn't do anything about the situation.

Pakistan may not do anything, or like previous times, open up fire on any incoming helicopters.

But one thing for sure will happen, that it will create resentment among the military, especially officers, and whatever good the US has done, will be lost. We did saw the same situation previously, intrusions, fire on the helicopters, the US bombings deliberately Pakistani post and killing our men, which made the things go to the lowest between both militaries.

Thus similar actions, will create resent among the military, and tomorrow if they again come into our territory, the people manning the border posts, may open up without even taking permission from higher ups, as when emotions take over, then there is no permission taking.

So today, the US may kill a few militants, but their actions may not only bring gaps between our military and theirs, rather it may give more fuel to the America hatred among Pakistanis, and even may provide fuel for more recruitment for the militants.

.
There were three intrusions in all in past four days.

First Strike took place in North Waziristan, on Friday, after an alleged attack on a US border outpost, during hot pursuit of the militants killing at least 30. It cannot be confirmed whether these were militants or not because the area is out of bound.

Then, second strike on Saturday in North again when NATO helicopters were fired upon and killed at least four militants.

Lastly, today morning, Helicopter gunships came atleast 10 KMs inside Pakistani territory in the Kurram Agency and killed 5. These were all civilians.

It seems that the frist attack did took place in hot pursuit. Considering that US has been asking for an op in North Waziristan for long, the NATO troops might have decided to take things in their own hands. NWA is the hotspot right now with all the recent drone strikes and is creating troubles.

But the other two strikes seem to have stemmed from the inaction on part of Pakistani side. It's also likely that these could have been at first confused with drone strikes because the area is mostly inacessible and it is impossible to have reports other than those from the intel sources. The fact that NATO has come out with a public statement signifies that it intends to carry on with the practice.

ISPR will be releasing a statement on the issue in half an hour. Let's wait for what they have to say.
