Well according to our origin myths my ancestor's ancestor either spoke Hebrew or Aramaic (if we're going by the Lost Tribe thing), Sanskrit (if we're going by the Hindu Brahmin thing) or some Aryan Language if we're going by the Aryan Invasion thing !

Thats because for the Sikhs, Gurkukhi & other Hindu-Sikh Aspects of Punjabi Culture have become intertwined with their religion & even for Hindus their religious rituals & cultural practices have had an indelible mark of Punjabi Culture as a whole !

Not for us though - We - in Pakistani Punjab - are non-ethnic, non-linguistic nationalists when it comes to our Punjabi Identity !

Is it a wonder that half of PML N's top cadre is full of ethnic Kashmiris & no Punjabi has ever passed a racial slur at them & we're not exactly the most cultured & suave of people when we don't want to be but no one even thought of that is indicative of how pluralistic Pakistani Punjabi identity is despite the occasional blots & what not !

No you dodo, it has NOTHING to do with just Sikhs, as in, there are many non-Sikh Punjabis and they are very much a distinct ethnicity (Punjabi) and have the same language AND dominate the region of Punjab.
