@alpha1cavalier Catholics give priority to Virgin Mary because she is mother of Jesus Christ.. Their Head is in Rome called Pope.. They do believe in Saints and pray to them to pray for us to God.. They believe since saints are more close to god, their prays will be heard by God than us..

Protestants on the other hand do not believe in Saints.. It is said that after the death of Jesus Christ no one has entered the heaven and every one is waiting for Jesus Christ second coming.. So protestants believe that Saints only have same power as normal human beings and they prefered to pray directly to god.

We Orthodox people's ideology is almost as same as Roman Catholics.. But we do not believe in Vatican and Pope.. We have our own head and our own practices.. For example, The preist in Roman Catholic church prays while standngi towards the people.. It means he is the messanger of God to the people.. While in Orthodox church, the preist prays the opposite direction, it means he is praying to god for us people.. You can understand it easily by the below you tube videos.. Look at the way the preists stand..
