I wish we don't, I'm glad with finding life anywhere else in the solar system, but not in Mars.
Why not?

If there's any evidence of life, all possible human mission to Mars will come to a stand still in the fear of contamination with the environment.
But such a discovery would give a solid evidence for the idea that the universe is full of life...if there could be life in two planets of one small solar system, think how many could be out there...it will only give a major boost to space exploration.
Are you sure? Or any theory? Any link?
i really dont believe that humans will establish stations on any planet in near future. terraforming is the only way which is a very long process, can take millennia. and even that will start only after more than 500 years when technology is advanced enough.
i said terraforming will start only after aleast 500 years not that humans will spread to other planets within 500 years. i am of the opinion that humans should not try to physically go to other planets themselves. first they should make their robots advanced enough and then leave the preparatory work to them. thats why i said nothing special will happen on other planets within 500 years.Looking at the perspective of the lifetime of a organism, 500 years is more like the blink of an eye. If human race can effectively spread out in the solar system in a self sustainable way in the next 500 years, that would be an immense achievement.

but today's robots are so primitive. useless for alteration of other planets. only good for taking photos. And yes, Robots will reach first to make the habitat before humans.

@Armstrong I have this theory: I think that extraterrestrials do exist, but in a different spectrum of light. Therefore, we might not be able to see them. It's just like jinns. Jinns are just a different spectrum of light so they are not visible to the human eye because human eyes are limited to certain types of lights. So, I think scientists have the wrong approach and need to open their minds to the different possibilities. But then again, this is just an idea I have been entertaining. What do you think?!
it requires a bit of mathematical acumen, but after studying this book you will understand better what i am saying.everything you use in everyday life is made by robots.

will take you many many levels above your current discovery channel education level on robotics.
now we only need to find oil there so USA can take democracy there ....
