Sorry to wake you both up from your dreams but UP is well more secure than bihar and other lawless states of India. I have lived in UP for 10 years and with cities like noida and Gr. noida and investments pouring in, UP is on its way to become a prosperous state.

Although i agree this mayawati needs to be removed but bureaucrats and other ias are eying industrial bases and tourism attraction for the state. Have you seen how highways quality is improving?

Just once I would like to see Modi apologies on behalf of his administration for the Godhra riots and fully assist in speedy action against the accused. If he has nothing to hide he should help in making it clear quickly and punishing the ones who are the culprits.

It does matter Ejaz.But this is not the first or the last of such riots that happened Sikh riots1984,Bhagalpur riots (1989),Quarterly riots in Hyderabad everyear until 1993 there are many

It does matter. But how do you proposed to go ahead when people like Zaheera Shaikh (Best Bakery Case) turn hostile and ask questions like humari quom ne hamare liye kya kia?

Ironically a tape by Tehelka claimed that Zaheera had been bribed by a MLA of Masjlis-e-Shura.

However in February 2006, a court in India convicted nine of the 21 people of murder, sentencing them to life imprisonment. It acquitted 8others, while issuing warrants for the arrest of four missing persons.

In Bilkis Bano case on 18 January 2008 sessions judge U D Salvi convicted twelve persons, including a police official. Seven others were acquitted for lack of direct evidence by the court. A Mumbai court on 21st awarded life sentence to 11 persons in connection to the Bilkis Bano gangrape case in Gujarat.

If NaMo can provide justice to the victims both Hindus and Muslims through fair trials, and go the extra step in promoting communal harmony, that would be enough to rebuild his image.

Where as in last 5 years of Congress NCP tenure riots in Maharshtra are happening in a span of every 20 days.

Same can be said about Gurgoan and Faridabad. Mumbai was also a port city much before india independence.

Gr Noida is first planned city of india. All others are mature and established city with new cosmetics.

By the way, there was not much space in delhi to accommodate all this development.

I agree that NCP-Congress rule has been pathetic when it comes to riot control as well. But you have to agree that the case of Gujarat where govt. functionaries were involved is much different with Maharashtra were local communal groups are involved.

Still, if NaMo is doing a good job in eliminating riots, promoting communal harmony and reassuring riot victims then kudos to him. I can't deny that he has done some pretty good governance related to economic and developmental issues. It just would be so much better if no parties play the communal card when trying to garner votes.

Praveen, If you look at all other states of india, everyone of them has only 2-3 cities that can be truly called Tier 1 city.

Yes, i am familiar with other undeveloped parts of UP but it takes one implosion to reciprocate to other areas of state.

Like how many townships have shown up in ghaziabad and ghautam bhudh nagar. Agra-Gr-Noida expressway, Meerut is also getting direct highway from ghaziabad.

Give it some time mate.

Where farmers are selling their daughters /wives to sahukar's.

Where lawlessness is a common.

Where people dont know what electricity is.

Where even the commodities like water are subject to approval of feaudals.
