Brahmin baniya party. So you mean to Say BJP is a Brahmin Party......................
The biggest difference between Narasimha Rao's time & now is the political culture. Narasimha Rao had political differences with the BJP, it was never personal (both Vajpayee & Advani held him in high esteem & he returned the compliment). It was why India could advance a large sum of money to Russia (unusual) for the purchase of Su30's and even when Vajpayee & Jaswant Singh were worried enough about the nature of the transaction & called in Shekhar Gupta of the Indian Express to dig further, they could still believe & go by the explanation of Narasimha Rao (when relationship between Rao & the BJP had deteriorated) and later with arch enemy Mulayam Singh (who as Defence Minister arranged for the documents to be shown to the BJP leaders) and still put national interests ahead of petty political differences (Yeltsin wanted that transfer before elections in Russia), something that we just don't see today. Everyone, including Modi opposes for the sake of opposing, national interests be damned. Started with the nuke deal & continues with FDI. The Congress must take most of the blame, treating the principal opposition part as an enemy rather than as a political opponent, the bad blood now having spilled over into the BJP's own behaviour. Shinde's remarks are only a continuation of that behaviour.
RSS be screwed.
I am of the view RSS must limit their contribution to BJP to organization/mobilization and let politicians run the country. A synergy must be found between RSS and BJP and lines drawn where RSS stops and BJP starts. Another reason why I like Narendra Modi. He has defined the lines very clearly in Gujarat and does not let the Sangh decide the policies there.
RSS is just about the only organization in India that works selflessly for betterment of the nation. RSS is a grass-root organization and the only grass root organization that works without any self interest.
The only problem is RSS is slave to logic and logic makes for poor politics and poorer life. (communist being another example)
Almost all BJP workers are RSS members and unless the BJP leaders make a genuine attempt to reach out to their grass root, RSS will continue to hold considerable leverage over them. Narendra Modi is successful because the grass root admire him and believe in him, but reality is Narendra Modi is also a creation of the RSS.
There is no other organization in India that trains ordinary citizens to be leaders. RSS role is irreplaceable and India is luck to have individuals who have dedicated their entire lives to training leaders and building grass root organizations.
I dont hate RSS. Im a RSS sympathizer/supporter. But being a supporter I should be able to say out their flaws as well and how that is affecting the bigger picture.
Of course ...congress gave birth to Narasimha Rao and RSS gave birth to Narendra Modi.
Everything has its place in this world, even though we may not be able to see it.
But because of that the RSS cant be micro managing BJP affairs. A mutual understanding of who does what must be there. Just like Narendra Modi. Now he works independent of Sangh but still maintains good relations with them and does not forget his past.
You will be surprised to see how much camaraderie is there between congress and BJP politicians in reality.
Narendra Modi is the embodiment of RSS. He can forget the RSS as much as you can forget the school/College you studied in.
Doesnt matter. BTW it was Jaswant Singh who through his brilliant conduct as the Foreign minister again opened track II talks with Strobe Talbott which lead to the cancellation of sanctions.
Dude that is a myth that MMS presented the reforms. The original idea of opening the economy was presented by Yashwant Sinha under the Chandrasekhar govt. The next FM (MMS) carried forward that within the guidelines recommended by IMF.
Do Indians credit Narasima Rao with the 1991 economic reforms that led to India becoming one of the biggest rising economies?
Or Singh?
Wasn; he involved in a scam? Was it the Stamp Scam?
