Presidents signature needed now and we will have 21st amendment.

That unfortunately, is less a problem of the judiciary and more a fundamental weakness of the state. For any state to be strong,it must have a monopoly on violence & force. Decentralising that like has been allowed over the years in Pakistan makes for a weakening of the state. That way judges end up only taking on those who are obliged to listen & acquiesce to them. No judge must be asked to take extraordinary risks to his life, just like no civilian should be asked to while performing the very ordinary of jobs.

yes state is very weak and mere sympathy doesn't cut it

our system of governance has failed. only during military rule it has stabilised itself when there was a president. parliamentary democracy never worked out. (yes half of its existence it was ruled by military but what about the other half? what has democracy given us?).
corrupt system has problem with honest and steadfast justice system so it wont allow it. Kashmir and Afghan issue has given space to the thugs who are stronger than the state now.. big example..

Red Mosque administration in the capital which calls the constitution of Pakistan illegitimate and kafir, calls its army a heretic and all the political parties unislamic and openly expressed its support for ISIS and threatened to unleash suicide bombing if challenged like Musharaf

So I agree with you. all these resolutions, speeches and operations are meaningless unless we tackle the ideology and choke the funding & venomous indoctrination from the Middle east.

Now the bill as passed and becomes a law, I have to rant a little on indecisiveness and inaction of our politicians. Since the start of democracy era and the worst years of WoT i.e. 2007-2012. Nobody tried to enact National action plan. Zardari-Kiyani kept status quo intact and kept the system afloat for the sake of democracy. Then came Ameer ul momineen, My blood boils to see it took him 1.7 years and death 135 kids to wake up, enact NAP, empower NACTA and give some act tough speeches. The non seriousness of PML-N on WoT policy , trying to lock horns with Musharraf is not specific to only civilian government but is collective hallmark of Post-2008 governments.

We needed Proactive attitude to solve our problems and should have shunned reactive approaches. But it's out national dilemma our Sahib e Iqteedar becomes proactive only when democracy is in danger by "Unseen, Hidden, third forces" or by "Billa" or by "establishment" and for rest of issues, "kaam chalao, dekha jaye ga" attitude is adopted.

I don't think people should over shadow taseer's grave mistake & not expecting aftermaths. Issues should be addressed clearly on both sides. Actually army went to civilian government for constitutional umbrella against those they feed 35 years and asked whole civilian leadership to be united over they have minimum share of sin. How's pathetic.

Question still legitimate: How much military is actually serious to punish extremists while still holding Haqqani's in back pockets out of world sight?

Did you trust over them like infant happy with lollypop? In fact Martial Law was avoided in August which has to be according to foreign planning but....this time civilian government present itself semi Martial Law act under civilian government for the good will of ISAF departure and maintain peace for some times till they busy with other issues.

It's a matter of principle. They supported the bill in the conferences and in principle.

Completely different from the stance JI/JUI are taking.

PTI opposes the government, not the bill.

JI/JUI support the government party, not the bill.
