A pair of Pakistani naval ships has arrived in Shanghai ahead of a joint naval exercise in the East China Sea.

Commodore Bilal Abdul Nasir Si heads the Pakistani fleet

"This is my, in fact, my first visit, but the ships of Pakistan Navy have been visiting China regularly. And we hope to do so in the future as well. We have, we are carrying over 600 personnel and then these come over here to interact with Chinese friends."

The Pakistani naval vessels are going to be open to the public in Shanghai until tomorrow.

After taking part in the joint military drills in the East China Sea with the Chinese Navy, the Pakistani ships are also due to make ports-of-call in Vietnam and Indonesia.


As stated before , the ties between China and Pakistan , are brotherly already

The US doesn't want us to join any military alliance because they know, there is a no return and direct confrontation is inevitable. Right now, both China and the US believe our differences are marginal and can be managed. We have no serious dispute and trade tight with the West worth trillion $. The US is mainly a third party being dragged on by their allied in confrontation with us (Philippines, Japan). Despite that, it is not enough to force us into a military alliance. It will break the world in half and nuclear Armageddon will become a self-prophecy due to the fact a minor skirmish between rival member will trigger global war. I love how the Indian are saying they staying out. LOL There won't be an India, either annexed by NATO or SCO when global war is waging.

Whether SCO will become a military alliance will depend largely on the US. Right now, the US doesn't want it to be an alliance so they will manage to have hostile relation with Russia/China but won't force the issue with our back is against the wall, so to speak.

Will never happen as the OP does not realise that China will join the US as a peer over the next 10-15 years and then steadily become stronger than it.

Any "alliance" would mean that other members would become nothing more than clients of China, even including Russia.

It is a new year's after all - no need to burst the bubbles so quickly, let the Man dream!

Inclusion of India and Pakistan in SCO make it clear that the SCO is not intended as an actual military alliance but as a security one aimed towards combating terrorism and ensuring security of trade routes.

On the side note, once the smoke clears Russia achieve it's objective in Ukraine however misguided it might be. It is not too much a stretch to assume that other's would get the same idea.

UN is as powerful as it is allowed to be - it has never been the most muscular of organizations but it is it's non threatening and impotent stature which has allowed it to survive in this fractured world, otherwise the wolves would have gobbled it all up. For power projections their have always been other groupings like Nato and the Warsaw Pact.

Well, we will probably see Turkey invade Cyprus and fight against Greece before SCO become an military alliance. And even by any chance it could have been established, you will get a sort of power struggle between China and Russia ala Britain-France-Germany within the EU and NATO.

Such alliance would be useless unless either China or Russia give up their "prime" and become a subordinate. Which hell would literally freeze over before that will happens.

About UN and the Justice League, that's a joke, don't read too much about it.

The United States is a liberal democracy. During the past 200 years, the United States has already annexed all of the land that it wanted.

China is not a liberal democracy. China has not gone through the expansion phase that the United States has already undergone.

China has the military power. The only question is whether it is willing to use it.

By the way, all of your analogies are stupid.

Europe is expanding by pulling countries into the European Union/NATO. Europe has been expanding non-stop. Europe pulled in many of the ex-Soviet nations including the Baltic States. NATO just expanded into Montenegro.

The other minor countries can't expand, because they live in a neighborhood with a superpower (ie. China). You don't do anything without China's assent.

About six months ago, the United States and South Korea were suggesting re-uniting the Korean peninsula. China moved 100,000 mechanized troops to the North Korean border. The United States and South Korea stopped talking about re-unification.

My prediction : Never

India will never join any military alliance, we will only wait and watch if anything like this happens. Also as far as India-Pakistan is in the group it can never become a military group.
