My First Interview

Tomorrow is a big day for me as I have a interview schedule for Samsung as KPI Inventory Specialist, I really want this job because when I was there I had the chance to do work on their inventory for a couple of days, the work is interesting and the best part is to work on software's like CRM and SAP, I am a bit nervous but excited as well. Any Tips and suggestions will be much appreciated as this is the first full panel Interview I will be giving in the USA.

I was recommended by the head Inventory guy, who also work as Korean Translator for the Manager for the complex, he and I become good friends. Funny thing is when I was working there as Quality Control I was so pumped up for any interview now I am in FL working for Spectrum suddenly I am like OMG i don't know anything haha...

I will say, the thing you should really do is relax. You never have good interview when you are tense.

People get tensed up once they are in a situation they are hoping for, I assume you wanted this job so much for so long, that's anticipation is what get people tense up, think of other thing and think of this isn't going to be your last opportunities and you will be relaxed quite a lot.

And then be yourself, and if you are asked a question which you have no idea to answer, be truthful because sometime people hiring would want to see what kind of aptitude the applicant has, some will be honest and say they don't know when they don't know. Some one will just make stuff up and pretend they know and try to get the conversation going. The thing is, if you know everything you need to know for this job, which is what you are supposed to, you will know when you don't know something, which always mean they are not needed, which means it is a test. By the way, this is how detective catch liar...

And finally, be polite. Nobody wants to work with rude and self-absorb asshole, a greeting goes a long way. But then you should know about this.

I always always lie on the interview. What that means is I use 70% truth and 30% Exaggeration to Make the work I have done realy Imp and a little more complex than the job I'm applying for.

As I know what I'm talking about it has always worked for me.
But only try this If you know your work in and out .

Thanks man, that really help. I was actually wondering about the same thing, I did work on their inventory because the head Inventory guy wanted me to be hired, but unfortunately they went on Hire Freeze at mid December last year, and up until May they were still in Hire freeze, and I got offer from FL.

And yes sure this is definitely not my last opportunity, but this could be a decent stepping towards a stable career. All the interviews I had so far in America mostly one on one over the webex/skype, but this time as the HR lady say will be a Panel, which is something kinda making me a bit nervous not gonna lie. Plus I want to learn, I learned Samsung's own Software for Quality/Inventory relatively quickly because I am good at learning anything related to Computers/Software's. So getting a Chance to work for a company like Samsung over SAP is amazing. I always wanted to learn SAP, unfortunately in Pakistan it was crazy expensive back in 2016-2020.

I am generally very nice/Polite I am very careful with my words specially in a professional environment and working as Customer support for past 6 months of course enhances that for me, but thanks again really appreciated your advice.

Hi,

First of all:

• Set off a little early
• Arrive a few mins early
• Wear your Sunday best

When you are introduced, state your name, offer to shake the hand of the interview panel, when you shake hands remember a firm handshake and maintain eye contact for 2 seconds... I was taught this by Protocol officers, and if it works for heads of states, it will work for you and set a great impression.

Do your research, brand, history, management, current challenges, why you have chosen to work for the company vs anyone else. These are questions that may be asked as part of your interview.

All interviews now follow the STAR method, learn it, prepare for it, use it in interview:

NB: During the interview if you are sat on a chair and feeling nervous, to avoid fidgeting place your hands on your lap or legs, it is also completely acceptable to use what are called "talking hands" Imran Khan is a master of this btw, it really helps when you are nervous.

Relax, they know it very well. They are not expecting from you 10 year of experience. They only check your potential. Never submit an Indian resume, 30 years of age 25 years of experience, the last job was President of a company. If you in FL then all is well, relax people and relaxed environment but be careful of people of closets ....lolzzz...
