The reality is that the army has tried its best to make (and at times force) Pakistan into adapting with the circumstances. they aren't perfect, but they are better than the alternatives.

If you know the history then one General Zia Ul Haq comes to mind.

The only way forward is that democracy continues. If three or four governments finish their terms and elections are held a lot of trash will be eliminated. The same is happening to PPP these days. They are slowly being washed away. Similarly JI is being ignored by voters and this is evident from last two national assembly seat elections.

Perhaps Nawaz Sharif and his family was also going towards his end but PTI has given him new life. Now he has a casue to fight and if people somehow accept his version then we might see another term for PML(N).

This is the only way forward.

at the cost of what IMF shackles? means ultimately surrender your nuclear asset. Dilapidated roads, high inflation, hopelessness and exploitation of poor, delivery in rickshaws and roads, etc etc etc

I atleast have brains unlike you.

The number of people on this forum has increased many fold who it seems do not have the ability to understand and analyze things. They compare one problem to an entrire different problem occuring thousand of mile away and start comparing.

Their would always be people who would never have the ability to accept the fact.

maaf karday that myth has been busted so many times. Just look at the GDP growth figuires. Its always been higher during military rule. International standing of the country has always been better and general satisfaction among the public has been greater as well.

As stated by @GIANTsasquatch Pakistan was freed from IMF in military rule. Debts from IMF have been accumulated during democracy. best of democratic GDP ,which is not an accurate method to judge economy but as is accepted by most, is maximum abreast the lowest of military rule that is Gen Zia. all development work took place during military regime.
