“Marxist, Muslim and Western historians” were in the line of fire on Sunday at a seminar organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-backed Akhil Bharatiya Itihaas Sankalan Yojana (ABISY) to offer tribute to ‘A Forgotten Hindu Emperor, Maharaja Hemchandra Vikramaditya’ with Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy calling for burning of their books.

The complaint of ABISY — the history wing of the RSS — and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad against these historians was that they had ignored many Hindu historical figures by design. ABISY national president Satish Chandra Mittal said Hemchandra Vikramaditya — who had established ‘Hindu raj’ in North India before the second battle of Panipat, 1556 — was a nationalist. Books written by “Nehruvian historians” such as Bipin Chandra and Romila Thapar should be set afire, Dr. Swamy said.

He said Muslims should give up claim to the disputed land/structures at Ayodhya, Varanasi and Mathura so that temples could be constructed there. “This will help create a new milieu in the country.” Referring to the disputes over the Ramjanmabhoomi Temple-Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Temple-Gyanvyapi Mosque in Varanasi and the Keshav Dev Temple-Shahi Idgah in Mathura, he said temples should be built there. “Even if the government does not do anything, I will; I will go to court.”

Finally somebody remembers the great Emperor Hemu

A Baniya who became an Emperor due to his own hard work and courage.

Let us hope good sense prevail.

In the early sixteenth century the Mughals and Afghans were vying for power in North India, whereas the south was controlled by the comparatively stable Hindu Vijayanagar Empire, ruled at that time by Krishnadevaraya.

The Mughals were then, still considered a foreign force: Babur's barbaric invasion of North India in 1526 resulted in the destruction, looting and demolition of most important Hindu temples in North India, such as the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, the Krishna Temple at Mathura and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple at Benares. Mosques were constructed on the ruins of those sites — for example, the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya, the Jama Masjid at Mathura and the Gyanvapi Mosque at Benares — and this led to widespread disaffection among Hindus.

For instance, Guru Nanak, a contemporary and an eye witness to Babur's invasion in the Punjab has given vivid accounts of Babur's vandalism terming him a butcher. Growing up in such an atmosphere, in a devout family of Hindu Brahmin priests, Hemu yearned to take a revenge and defeat the Mughals. His first opportunity to do so and to rule North India from Delhi came after victory over Akbar's forces in the Battle for Delhi in October 1556.

Emperor Hemu fought Afghan rebels across North India from the Punjab to Bengal and the Mughal forces of Akbar and Humayun in Agra and Delhi, winning 22 consecutive battles.

Hemu had his formal Hindu Rajyabhishek or coronation at Purana Qila in Delhi on 7 October 1556[citation needed] in the presence of all the Afghan Sardars and Hindu Senapatis (military commanders), thus becoming the Hindu Emperor of Delhi.

Hemu was injured in the Second battle of Panipath where he was personally involved in the war. When unconscious in the battle field he was captured.

Bairam Khan asked Akbar to behead Hemu so that he could earn the title of Ghazi. Akbar replied 'He is already dead, if he had any strength for a dual, I would have killed him'. After Akbar's refusal Hemu's body was denied honour by the Mughal battle tradition and was unceremoniously beheaded by Bairam Khan. Hemu's head was sent to Kabul in Afghanistan, where it was hanged outside the Delhi Darwaza, to be shown to Afghans to prove that the great Hindu warrior is dead, while his body was placed in a gibbet outside Purana Quila in Delhi to terrorise the native Hindus.

After Hemu's death, a massacre of Hemu's community and followers was ordered by Bairam Khan. Thousands were beheaded and towers of skulls were built with their heads, to instill terror among the Hindus and Afghans. At least one painting of such minarets is displayed in the "Panipat Wars Museum" at Panipat in Haryana. These towers were still in existence about 60 years later as described by Peter Mundy, a British traveler who visited India during the time of Jahangir.

That is the story of Akbar "the great".

Here is a ancient painting showing Akbar "the great" making a Tower with the heads of killed Hindus.

Sadly this master piece of architectural marvel does not remain any-more, but the same culture that built this tower, has also built similar towers in other parts of the world which still exist. Here is the present day pictures from some of them .

Not sure, all that is know was he was a Brahmin who became a trader who later became a General and then an Emperor.

His father was a Brahmin called Puran Das of the Radhavallabh Sampradaya.

The caste background of Hemu will remain a mystery until further research. Some claim he is a Brahmin, Banya, Khatri and even a Jat.

Mughal historians such as Bada'uni and Abu'l-Fazl , both have mentioned that he was a Brahmin and that he grew up in the town of Rewari, in the Mewat region.

There is no confusion regarding the fact that he was born a brahmin to a brahmin father called Puran Das. Both Mughal historians of that age has mentioned it distinctively.

Ah one of the more famous incidences of Akbar "the great".

By that time the Evil of Akbar had already reached most parts of India.

When Akbar attacked Chittor and all the 8000 Rajput warriors in the fort attacked him and ALL of them died and not ONE of them surrendered.

8000 Women folks of those rajput warriors chose to commit Jauhar (Self Immolation, comes from Jay Har - meaning Hail Shiva) February 22, 1568 AD rather than get captured, raped and become slaves of the Mughals.

If that was not enough, Akbar "the great" after capturing the city, KILLED 30,000-40,000 Men, WOMEN and CHILDREN in the Fort. This was done to avenge himself on the thousand musketeers who had done much damage to his troops, but they escaped by the boldest of the tricks. Binding their own women and children, and shoving them roughly along like new captives, the Rajput musketeers successfully passed themselves off as a detachment of the victorious Mughals and so made their way out of the fort .

The true account of this war was given by Abul Faz'l in his biography in 1568 AD.

Here are the few pictures of Rani Padmani committing Jauhar, that I could find.
