King Aurangzeb is not the benchmark neither Islam came from him. Just remember that Islam is not asking to prevent non-Muslims from worshipping or stop them from any of their religious practices, but you cannot be an aid in their wrong-doing.

They just do not have the option to break free and explore other options. IF they do, they die.

I read entire Islam.It is nothing but a mix of bible and pagan stories used to instill fear among Arab pagans to win them over to Islam.Such fairy tales and threats won't appeal to Hindus who are used to read high philosophical books like Gita,Upanishads,Buddhist literature etc.
Children and simple minded people may find the descriptions in Quran scary.
