Muslim immigrants want Switzerland to change national flag

Some NON ARAB muslims need to get this straight. Yes Islam was founded by the Arabs BUT what their beliefs are is now part of their interest. I remember this coming from an arab. He said : " Non- Arab Muslims cannot live without Arab Muslims" This clearly shows how much they have brainwashed the priests living abroad. I was born and raised in Saudi arabia and I know what they can do. The Taliban, Al-Qadea ---- all these extremists are funded by arabs and all the blame gets on Pakistanis, Afghanis. Anyhow The concept of islam needs to be individualized based on your country you are form and not grouped from just one whole general perspective. This is the biggest problem right now.

As for worrying about the sensitivities of their minority, I have heard the usage of "Hindu Baniya" on Pakistani media channels more than once. Am guessing Hindu Pakistanis don't have any feelings?

Media is a tool to shape peoples opinion. No doubt about that, but to say that only western countries do that and ours don't is not right.

I don't know about Indian media, but mainstream Pakistani media is very supportive of minorities. They are not on a constant lookout for any Hindu or Christian nutjob so they can demonize the whole community. They do not make an issue of a minority person's religion in a negative context, the way the American media went nuts over 'Obama is a Muslim'.

I don't know about Indian media, but mainstream Pakistani media is very supportive of minorities. They are not on a constant lookout for any Hindu or Christian nutjob so they can demonize the whole community. I think the difference is that people in America know what to take in seriously and what to filter out. "Obama is a Muslim" was more to do with TRP and sensationalism. People still voted for him.

Pakistani media might be very supportive of minorities, what about the Pakistani people? I mean people are giving valentines day cards to Salman Qadri! I know not every Pakistani is like that, but majority seem that way.

What Swiss rights has to do with BD rights ? Is there a provision in the Swiss law that says

1) if you are a Muslim you can't speak your mind about the flag, however if

2) a certain Muslim country removes "Bismillaher............." from the constitution, a muslim may be allowed to express said opinions.

3) therefore your rights are subject to what happens in foreign lands.

4) Which means Swiss laws are not that of Sovereign nation.

This is what the "This is the beauty of a democracy where everybody has freedom to speak except when you are a Muslim" crowd touting !!

The average American or European is no more immune to media brainwashing than the average South Asian. Do you think they know anything about Muslims or Hindus other than what they see on TV?

In India, the BJP's entire manifesto is based around the premise that Congress 'appeases Muslims'. Should we then conclude that the popularity of BJP is a barometer of anti-Muslim bigotry in India?

You need to realise that no one is being prosecuted for making such suggestion(changing the flag). Some people will find it offensive and outrageous, just like so many Bangladeshis went ape sh&t crazy when the idea of dropping Bismillah was brought forward.

Citizen rights works both ways. If making outrageous demands falls under citizens right, so does being outraged.

At the insistence of minorities of Pakistan, will it change its flag?

Muslims first should focus on preaching Islam and converting people so when Muslims will come in Majority they will be able to do what they should want

apart from a racist trait as we notice from members postings every other everyday here it seems ( fixated on a persons skin color). They also don't allow anyone under 18 to visit a Mosque (Govt law). throw those folks in jail if they do... If there is a self professed anti religion country , it is China.
