Islam probably spread mainly through trading in different countries.

There's some websites that come up with the most ludicrous theories that everyone was forcibly converted by the sword, like this would be possible, or necessary.
boss, please read all those writings on ghori and babur and other historical books. Both christianity and islam has spread through both violent means as well as non-v means. it is false if you say islam spread only through preaching. I also include coersion, where the islamic rulers impose conditions that the non-muslims either submit or led a wrtched life.

The Mugals ruled over India for a prety long time did they, is it not possible to convert forcefully for 10 generations so that down the lane the forget their real identity is?
simple, when they stop ration to the people who do not read or tell Quran sentences when asked is good enough to force some one to convert rather than stick to his/her own religion and die.

The problem with this theory of yours is

a) the Mughals had many non muslim soldiers and generals in their army at all points in their history. Why were they not "forcibly converted" if this was the policy?

b) forcible conversion even over many generations isn't going to occur unless you can wipe out the previous history. That's not possible.

c) in the first generation people say they are religion b because of the sword, but believe they are religion a. in the second generation, if the invaders are present, and the same policy exists, they will be told they are religion a really, but to say they are religion b. it carries on being past down like that. At no time in Mughal history was there ever a very long anti-non muslim agenda. most mughal rulers were very good to non muslim subjects. one or two may not have been, but it was only for the period of a generation. You cannot forcibly convert in many generations in my opinion, and certainly not in one generation only.

the simple reason is they couldnt because of the huge hindu population.they did try initially. for eg, ghori and the slave dynasty tried to establish islam by exterminating hindus. however although they were stronger they were not able to completely destroy the hindu kingdoms (like ind-pak today). the other important turning point came when in 12xx AD, Genghiz khan camped on the banks of the indus, after his massacre of muslims right from turkey to afghanistan and this made the muslims in india to cr@p in their shalwars. they wanted hindu support and so stopped trying to massacre them indiscriminately.
however, till the british came, the hindus were second class citizens in their own land and ruled by aliens. even today aliens have occupied pakistan.

What in the deccan are you talking about here?

If you can convert people by the sword it should be easy to give some solid examples. Everyone will have tried it.

So here are the examples wiki gives

"According to historian Bernard Lewis, forced conversions played a role especially in the 12th century under the Almohad dynasty of North Africa and Andalusia as well as in Persia where the Shi'a sect of Islam is dominant.[39] He is however also of the opinion that other incidents of forced conversions have been rare in Islamic history. He adds that "In the early centuries of Islamic rule there was little or no attempt at forcible conversion, the spread of the faith being effected rather by persuasion and inducement."[40][41][42] A few well-known examples of forced conversion are[41]:

Anusim of Meshhad, Jewish community forced on pain of death to convert in 1839 under Safawid rule. Most continued Jewish practices in secret and many of their descendents returned to Judaism in the early 20th century.[43]

They converted and then went back

Francis Bok - Sudanese-American activist, from Christianity; later returned to his Christian faith.[44]

He converted, then went back

You might be seeing some repetition here

There is no such thing as forced conversion.

There is PERSECUTION whereby people say they are religion b, when in fact they are religion a. In fact I have noticed some minority religion people do this in the west. Persecution is a fact.

All this nonsense of poor Bharati being forced to convert is laughable like a Bollywood acting cast.

This is the divide and conquer tactic made by the West to stir up the tension between China and Muslims.

You can see this website is from Taiwan which is at least partially controlled by the western media.

The West claims how China is oppressing the Muslims in Xinjiang and acts like the biggest Muslim sympathizers themselves.

This is the biggest hypocrisy of all time as the fanatical Muslim-hating Christians would indeed use the Muslim as the token to harm their biggest opponent China when it is necessary.

Don't rant like an extremist. Just has Islamophobia is wrong is your Christian hate.

Disgusting, deport em, they can return to their countries and change as many flags as they want, foreign land=foreign laws

A group of Muslim immigrants wants to force Switzerland to abandon the current flag - a white cross on the red background. They say that it violates the rights of the representatives of non-Christian confessions. They seem to have been hurt by the recent ban on minarets construction. However, their proposal is unlikely to be welcomed by the native Swiss and will only increase the number of votes in favor of the treasury of the local far-right People's Party.
