Agreed - But Blain, can you please explain this bit that I don't understand about his temporary exile in London. This is your jazbaat speaking. Pakistan has been raped and pillaged in much more brazen manner than anything you can pile up under Musharraf. Currently, true to our form, the nation is angry at the "Jernail" who is being blamed for all of the past sins as if the decade of the 90s had nothing to do with setting back the Pakistan of today. Our nation is always angry because the leaders never take charge and the buck passes on to anyone over whom the nation can vent. The PPP and PML-N must be thanking their lucky stars that they can blame the past military leadership since they are clearly incapable of dealing with Pakistan's challenges and know that in the face of this failure, the only salvation lies with keeping the nation distracted on the personalities of the past who in actuality have done much less harm than what their current inaction or action is doing.
In any case, hold on to your emotions because soon enough you will have to say the same about the two thieves who are visiting (as does a curse) Pakistan, namely Zardari and Nawaz Sharif. When these two gents go through their reigns of pillage and raping, then the sins of Musharraf will be forgotten and then he will reappear on the scene kicking these two assholes back into banishment. So all in all its not a bad thing for him to remove himself from the scene. The amazing, 30% literate awaam of Pakistan have to go through the ignominy of the Zardari and NS reigns before they can forget about the Jernail. So be it. It probably is a blessing in disguise for Musharraf.
Remember "TIA"? Well This Is Pakistan!!!!
How does Musharraf afford such expensive house in London and able to go on expensive luxury cruises? Also, I heard he was building a palatial house on the outskirts of Islamabad in the last months of his dictatorship. Where did all that money come from? Something fishy going on here.
Hamam mai sub nange...
Dear Pakistani brothers,
please explain how Musharaf who is often loved and popular (i.e. friends and lovers of Mush) can "suddenly" become so despised? Didn't he help build and unify Pakistan? Is this a sudden COVERT character-assassination operation?
Seems those who put Zardari in power (not the people!) are the same who are going after Musharaf. Seen this played out in many countries. Those who have strong Zionist support receive IMMUNITY for their crimes, while those who countered Zionists during their term are HUNTED LIKE ANIMALS.
That is my observation, please share yours.
Brother you are always with the right thought and i admire you, You answerd what i had to say rest i will try to cover.Ok prove what you claim here. Any documentation, pictures, price of this "expensive" house in London? Do you know what a luxury cruise costs? Nothing more than $5-10,000 USD (in case his is not a complementary one). Do you know how much he is making per engagement on the lecture circuit? $100,000 -$200,000 per lecture - too bad that neither Zardari nor Nawaz Sharif can command anything like this..they have never been asked and as such all the more reason for hoarding all that they can while in power because once they are out of sight, they are surely out of the mind of the world. Now figure out the above numbers keeping in mind that Musharraf has been on this lecture circuit for a while.
Secondly, why is the assumption that he is broke? Did he not earn income as the CoAS and then as the President? Does his son not live in the West and is working a fairly high paying job? I sure would care for my father if he came and visited me in Pakistan or elsewhere. So why is this stay in the West so unusual for a person like Musharraf? Does he not have a house and property in Pakistan? Don't you think he has money in DSC in Pakistan?
He is the first President of Pakistan who disclosed all of his assets and they were definitely enough to finance the house in Chak Shehzad and then have some left over.
Here you are making a controversy out of nothing. He is decently well off through documented sources of income unlike the current President and the former PM lurking in the shadows.
Critique Musharraf's policies, but don't try to go off on half-truths and outright lies about his financial integrity. All that the other side can pin on him is claims of this or that irregularity without being able to prove anything against him or his former PM Shaukat Aziz, another man of great personal integrity.
First of all with all due respect i see your disability to understand international politics on world level. Second prove one point where you say that he gave up on Kasmire stance. Pakistani stance was to have the entire kasghmire and indian was the same, and i wouldn't and will not be solved until Pakistan take over india or india take over pakistan, so you need to meet at the common ground unless you want to live in the time of Quriesh where tribes used to fight over camels drinking water for 40 years. Talking about him killing hunderds in wot! what is happending right now? If it's ok now then why at that time. US drones attacks are not in pakistan's control, now he is gone why don't this government of NS and PPP stop them. Instead they gave them the green signel Electricity? Pakistan went over from 1 tv channel to over 70 from 2 telecom companies to over 20, People who didn't have TV have TV, computer are given on campuses by schools, UPS, Business grew, Pakistan built it's aircraft industry, Took HIT to the next level, when people couldn't even think of AC now having many in their houses, All this take electricity. Pakistan never thought of this boom in this small time so, Pakistan lacked a bit, but all the roits by Political parties and lawyers brought Pakistan to it's knees, So Musharraf could be forced out and now you are blaming Musharraf. Yes he thought that Pakistan need Musharraf. So tell me what happend after he left. we are doomed now admit it or not so in reality we needed a leader like him for another 5-7 years but we rushed him to the door and now we are Blaming for our sins on him. Just for the example. Pakistan needed 40 million tons of wheat but we were producing 44 millions. So the government let the export of wheat happen and we people went on making money and exported more then 4 millions and smuggled it to Afganistan. So is it his fault? and if yeh then how? prove me. If bad things happen, then who do it? Answer is we Pakistani do it to us and we are blaming on One guy. ZHe never felt like god nor he will ever Inshah Allah rest Allah knows so this exemption is wrong. You talking about national debt? Please go study about finance brother with all due respect before casting funny comments. What is wrong with us i mean seriously.Exactly, cared his country by giving up on Kashmir stance by Killing hundreds of young innocent kids and women and ofcours doing Karghil after which Pakistan is on the defensive. No talk of corruption and why national debt increased many folds, no electricity, water, food in the country and also that during his rule Pakistan was declared the third most corrupt nation in the world. He is rightful in wearing the Crown of National Service.
Political Exile? Hang Him!
Well saidOK, i can figure out the compulsions of his stay in London - no need to answer that one.
And righteous_fire - the twins that you speak of culling should be Z & NS - if only you knew.
