Muqtada al-Sadr visits Saudi Arabia for the first time in 11 years

In Saddam time, Iran was no where to be found in Iraq, so your claim of Iran involved in Iraq doesnt hold much logic historically.

My question was, with Muqtada, a key Shia figure in Iraq, now meeting Saudi defacto king who is known to be staunch Iran hater, how this is will effect Iran influence in Iraq which it enjoyed unchallenged, Ironically, after American invasion of Iraq.

I can see Prince Salman big smile. Almost taunting the Mullahs of Qom.

I dont know the internal politics of Iraq that is why I was curious to know how much this visit will dent Iranian influence in Iraq.
A few weeks ago, the Iraqi prime minister visited KSA too.. so something is going on..

How is the current state of affairs between Iraqi establishment (if they have one) and Iranian Mullahs?

.
PMU not military
PMU was the only force threatened Turkey after their invasion. We are economically and militarily supporting Iraqi people and their resistance against IS.
Muqtada Sadr is making political move and IMO a big mistake.

For a cleric like him, this is a suicide. He will lose many things between Iraqi sha'ab.

@Malik Alashter Brother, glad to have your opinion. Why is he acting like a joking person?

Meanwhile their faces during the meeting :

One side believes that other side is a wahabi takfirist and other side believes the front side is a bunch of Rafidi Shias who should get beheaded !!!

What a joke?!!!!

PM as a politician has no problem with that meeting, the prince is massacring Yemenis and Iraqi people through his ISIS mercenaries and a cleric like Sadr meets with him. The guy lost everything he had earned, Iraqi people will not follow him anymore.

I think it is not bad.. but reconstruction of Iraq needs Golf money that Iran might not be able to provide..Which gives the Arab Gulf nations some leverage in Iraq policies.. they want to make sure that Sunni Iraqis are treated equally with the Shia'a and to bring back Iraq to unity.. in other words it is about sharing the behind the curtains' political influences with Iran in order to achieve some equilibrium..

Before ending war in Yemen and Iraq it is bad indeed

Arabs are respected nation but it is Persian gulf in any case. Let's take back Palestine, dear 500 million Arabs, :) Although as far as Arabs are in their racial Fitna, they will lose and lose again.

Sunnis are safe in Iraq and they are killing ISIS scums along with other Iraqi soldiers.
This religious move puts Iraq in a total danger, extremists will have open area for further attacks. Iraqi people inshallah will take care of it.

Or may be it is a step like Don Corliono who used to send his man as a defector so he may know others plan

Arab gulf nations are the Arab nations in that region. the Persian gulf , if you look at a map there are more Arab nations there than Only Iran.. I did not call it the Arabian Gulf.. you are taking this a bit too seriously without giving it a thought..
The 500 million Arabs can not face the US nuclear arsenal.. think about it, it is not only Usrael.. it is the Judaeo-Christian coalition that you'll have to fight, and for the moment it is not a good option for nations thriving to be successful..

We can do it.
I told you before, the problem is not American strength. Their military bases in Muslim countries are our barriers. They are highly dependent on Arabian oil, you know what i mean. We can make them economically collapse, that nuclear scum will be defeated in weeks. Despite their presence in all of Muslim countries, yet couldn't hurt Iranians. We are watching them in Persian gulf everyday buzzing them. We can defeat them, only if Muslim countries kick them out of their lands.
We can call it Muslim gulf after kicking Americans out of it and ignore historical facts, why i insist on Iran's influence and dominance in that gulf is USA's control over Arabian countries.
USA USA USA the roots of all problems in our region with it's lap dog Israel !

Iraq is not a military dictatorship, so the military power in the country IS controlled by the civilian authority of the govt. Iran has no major military influence in Iraq? thats ironic because Iran played a major role in Iraq's military success and push back against ISIS(especially the prevention of Baghdad falling to ISIS). IMO, its naive and gullible to think the US will outdo Iran in Iraq. At this stage there's almost no chance. US sadly has not shown it can play the "Iraq game"better than Iran.

Yep that's what I meant. Iran has heavy influence into the Iraqi Military. They're behind their success.

No one gives a damn to Al Sadr in Qom or Karbala. Hes just a Mullah who tried hard to become Ayatollah to challenge Sistani but failed.

Do you emulate Sistani? Your mom must be proud of you.

PMU is still an Iraqi national military force.

I must say I was referring to military as the army, based on the following hierarchy.

ISF (Iraqi Security Forces)
- Ministry of Defense, Military
- Ministry of Interior, Police & PMU
- CTS subordinate to prime minister bureau, ISOF

Iran has influence in the PMU, not so much in the other branches which are more influenced by the US. Especially CTS, Iran has no influence there.
