Mumbai : Prove Fire Temple Is Important To You, State Tells Parsis

The french were better off for it, but the Soviet union we are all aware of. It cannot end well in any conflict of class whether on social or economic lines.

As for your lack of understanding on Islam, suggest this lady.

Don't know what my alleged lack of understanding of Islam has to do with a topic on a 200 year old Parsi fire temple in the cross hairs of modern development and probable Sanghi small-mindedness, but I did go through the video.

For a TedX, very ordinary. I've organised and seen way better for my Alma mater.

Cheers, Doc

in the biblical account god appeared to Moses in the form of bush fire (Exodus 3-4) , fire is this sense is a symbolic representation of god ( and in most cultures) .

Though it's not related to this thread still .....

Per Quran, Moses wasn't strong enough to stand God's slight show of appearance. He fainted.

"When Musa arrived at our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: "O Lord, reveal Yourself to me that I may behold You." "You cannot behold Me," He said. "But look at the mountain: If it remains firm in its place you may then behold Me." But when his Lord appeared on the mountain, making it crumble to a heap of dust, and Musa fell unconscious. When he recovered, he said: "All glory to You. I turn to You in repentance, and I am the first to believe." (7. Al-Araf: 143)

---------------------------

The account of first narration to Moses as given by Quran, slightly differs from Bible,

"And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there [some] information or burning wood from the fire that you may warm yourselves." 28:29

"But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds." 28:30

Is it true that the Japanese car maker Mazda is names after Ahura Mazda? How did you guys end up in Japan?

Absolutely.

A fascinating story.

The Japanese race has always been fascinated by Zoroastrianism since ancient times.

A great deal of theological work on the ancient Avestan texts can be attributed directly to German and Japanese scholars.

It's only the bloodline rules that prevented the entire 5 senior most Samurai clans from converting to Zoroastrianism.

Shintoism in large part is heavily influenced by Zoroastrianism.

Allah swt revealed a part of His light (not Himself) the size of a human fingernail and it caused Mount Sinai to turn to dust, causing Musa AS to fall unconscious.

Allah swt is the creator of all the elements, atoms, space, and time. He is not fire as @manlion stated. We don’t know His form. Neither could we comprehend it, even if we see it.

Should that be our benchmark?

I am with the state on this one. The islamophobic parsis will get a very small taste of their own medicine.

Statues and religious buildings can be a big obstacle to infrastructure development, at times. People should learn to move.
In Delhi, one of the most important roads is perennially congested due to a Gurudwara. Religious people should learn to shift in the larger interest.
Same applies to the temple and mosques causing traffic jams.

.
Parsis are peaceful people. They will move the temple and not make a big scene.
