বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীতে উচ্চ পদে চাকুরীরত ৪ জন প্রভাবশালীর সাথে সম্প্রতি এক গোপন বৈঠকে মিলিত হন শান্তিতে নোবেল বিজয়ী ডঃ মুহম্মদ ইউনুস। ঢাকার বাইরে সাবেক এক সেনা কর্মকর্তার বাগানবাড়ীতে এই বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয় বলে জানিয়েছে একটি সূত্র।
সূত্রটি জানিয়েছে সেনাবাহিনীর কর্মকর্তারা দেশের সম্ভাব্য সংকটকালীন সময়ে দেশের সবচেয়ে সম্মানিত ব্যক্তি হিসেবে তাকে ভুমিকা রাখার অনুরোধ জানান। এছাড়া ঐ সময়ে তাদের নিজেদের অবস্থানকেও নিরাপদ রাখার জন্যও তদবির করেন তারা।
একটি সূত্র নাম প্রকাশ না করার শর্তে জানান, এসময় সাবেক সেনাপ্রধান জেনারেল (অব&#2435 মুবিনও সেই বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বৈঠকে উপস্থিতদের মধ্যে ছিলেন ২ জন লে. জেনারেল ও ২জন মেজর জেনারেল - যাদের মধ্যে একজনের গ্রামের বাড়ি চট্টগ্রামের লোহাগড়ায়। তবে গোপন ঐ বৈঠকের আলোচ্যসুচি পুরোটাই সেনা গোয়েন্দা সংস্থা গুলোর কাছে অজানা।
অন্যদিকে সেনাপ্রধান জেনারেল ইকবাল করিম ভুঁইয়া সম্প্রতি নিউজিল্যান্ডে প্যাসিফিক কমান্ডের কনফারেন্সে যোগদান করতে গিয়ে জেনারেল মাসুদউদ্দিন চৌধুরীর সাথে বৈঠক করেন পরবর্তী করনীয় সম্পর্কে। উল্লেখ্য জেনারেল মাসুদকে সেনাপ্রধান বানাতে শেখ হাসিনার প্রবল ইচ্ছা এবং একটি প্রভাবশালী দেশের পক্ষ থেকে সুপারিশ থাকা সত্বেও তৎকালীন একটি গোয়েন্দা সংস্থা প্রধান ও প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রতিরক্ষা উপদেষ্টার সরাসরি বিরোধিতায় সেই প্রক্রিয়াটি ভেস্তে যায়। এ সময় বিকল্প হিসেবে জেনারেল মাসুদেরই সুপারিশে জেনারেল ইকবাল করিম ভুঁইয়াকে সেনা প্রধান বানানো হয়।
এখন কৃতজ্ঞতার প্রতিদান হিসেবে সেনাপ্রধান চাইছেন যেকোন ভাবেই হোক শেখ হাসিনা ক্ষমতায় পুনরায় ফিরিয়ে আনতে। সেই লক্ষ্যেই জেনারেল মাসুদের সাথে তার ঐ বৈঠক এবং জেনারেল মাসুদের সাথে তিনি এই বিষয়ে বিশদ আলোচনা করেন বলে জানা গেছে।
উল্লেখ্য, শেখ হাসিনাকে ক্ষমতায় বসানোর জন্য সবচেয়ে বেশী কার্যকর সহায়তা করেছিলেন জেনারেল মাসুদ, যা সকলেই বিশ্বাস করেন। ১/১১'র অন্য সব কুশীলবরা নানা ভাবে বিপদের মধ্যে পরে দেশ ছাড়তে বাধ্য হলেও জেনারেল মাসুদের তৎকালীন ভূমিকার প্রতিদান স্বরূপ তাকে অষ্ট্রেলিয়ায় পোষ্টিং দেওয়া হয়।
আর সম্প্রতি জেনারেল মাসুদ ঢাকা সফর কালীন সময়ে শেখ হাসিনাকে কট্টর ভারতপন্থি হিসেবে পরিচিত সেনা কর্মকর্তাদের একটি তালিকা হস্তান্তর করেন বলে অপর একটি সূত্র জানায় । এসময়ে তিনি দফায় দফায় কর্মরত বিভিন্ন র্যা ঙ্ক ও প্রোফাইলের সমমনা সেনা কর্মকর্তাদের সাথে বৈঠক করেন বলেও জানা গেছে। সাম্প্রতিক তার ঢাকা সফরকালে জেনারেল মাসুদ রাষ্ট্রপতি ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী দুজনের সাথেই কয়েক দফা একান্ত বৈঠক করেন। বৈঠকে পরবর্তী নির্বাচনকালিন সময়ে সেনা কর্মকর্তাদের পদায়নের বিষয়ে আলোচনা করেন।

You are wrong about eternal slavery relationship. You should say of eternal friendship with India which some BD fanatic posters love to portray as eternal slavery. This is how they grease their propaganda machine not only against India, but also against an independent BD.

you're saying that in BD Military,Chief selection is done on the basis of Neighbouring country's recommendation???Sk Hasina's wish is understandable.but how come India(if it is) declare its wish in this matter,both officially/unofficially and that news came to this tabloid???ain't I'm smelling a rotten mole here???any info how this tabloid come by this news or any info on this matter that how India let them know that they wanted Gen. Masud as Chief??
