Many Muhajirs in Pakistan have pashtun ancestery from father side, ask them if they consider themselves as Pashtuns or of North-Indian heritage. I heard Muhajirs with the name Khan don't like Pashtuns in Karachi

Its true, also many of these naqli pathans are in MQM and they hate pashtuns. A member on this forum mentioned that after partition it was beginning of new life for mohajirs in pakistan, many of them assumed new castes and nobody bothered them to verify it. In karachi every mohajir belongs to high caste e.g syed, pathan, mughal, qureshi, sadiqui, usmani etc.....

Is that the reason why they did not migrate in 1947 to Pakistan after overwhelmingly voting for ML in 1945/46 Provincial and Central elections when ML stood on the plank of a separate Islamic country?
