UN imposes arms embargo on Yemen Houthies

Saudi Arabia buys tens of thousands of AK-47s from Croatia and floods Yemen with these guns. Yemen is in no shortage of Soviet era arms thanks to Saudi Arabia. UN cannot enforce any resolution. UN has no army so it has no power to do anything.

why sausi would flood weapons to Yemen they bought weapons to arm the Syrian rebel
UN don;t need to do any thing this resolution will give Saudi led Arab coalition more legitimacy in imposing blocked around Yemen

Iran and Iraq and Shias are the only ones supporting a group that their motto says Death to America (same one that theyre having their "peaceful" talks with (Iran), and the same one that came to their rescue with air strikes vs ISIS (iraq) and curse the Jews (A group of people that includes Iranian citizens)

So basically you guys are official backstabbers, genocidal, traitors to your own principles and people.

Truly renegade countries, no wonder that the world hates you.

The US should mind its own business. Leave Ukraine, leave the Middle East, leave Asia, leave South America. Yankee go home :enjoy:

Look at the Russian apologist stance ....How could they forget their aggression over Chechnya , Georgia, Crimea and Ukraine
Russians are not angels. Its just that they didn't want to be seen going against an otherwise unanimous resolution. Interesting is that China has voted in favor of the resolution as well.

Never has been Iran so politically isolated. UN's banner just gave the operation all sorts of legitimacy it requires.

In June 2024, the Houthi rebels launched a missile attack on the MSC Tavvishi, a container ship operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company. The incident occurred on June 8, approximately 70 miles southwest of Adenin the Gulf of Aden.

Key Details:

  • Attack Overview: The MSC Tavvishi was struck by an anti-ship ballistic missile (ABSM), resulting in damage primarily to its cargo. Fortunately, the crew reported no injuries, and the ship was able to continue its journey to Djibouti despite the incident.
  • Damage Assessment: Following the attack, it was confirmed that while the ship sustained damage, it did not suffer catastrophic failure and was not sunk. This highlights the resilience of modern shipping vessels in enduring missile strikes.
  • Houthi Claims: The Houthis claimed responsibility for targeting the MSC Tavvishi and another vessel, asserting that these ships were linked to companies violating their stance against access to ports associated with Israel.
  • Broader Context: This attack is part of a larger campaign by the Houthis against international shipping in response to regional conflicts, particularly the ongoing tensions surrounding Israel and Gaza. The Houthis have intensified their operations in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, targeting vessels perceived as connected to their adversaries.
  • International Response: The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has been monitoring these attacks closely and has conducted strikes against Houthi positions in Yemen to deter further aggression. The ongoing situation poses significant risks for maritime security in one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.
This incident underscores the complexities of maritime security in conflict zones and highlights the implications of regional tensions on global trade routes. The ability of vessels like the MSC Tavvishi to sustain damage yet continue operations reflects advancements in maritime safety and resilience.
