My brother we have many faults but I still think democracy is the way forward.

But first we must decide if what India ( and USA, Pakistan, Britain etc ) has is democracy. What India has is an unnecessarily complicated system where there is the illusion of people deciding things in the country by choosing some politician to power every five years. But after that choosing the politician and his party make all the decisions without consulting the citizens. Also, any suggestion or idea that citizens have will not reach the top executive level of the country's political system. So this is not true democracy but an illusion of it and it is called Representative Democracy.

Please read this post of mine about how true democracy was implemented in Libya until 2011 and in Venezuela now. The system is called Direct Democracy and was / is guided by socialism in those two places. Even Elon Musk wants Direct Democracy as the governing system for near-future Mars settlements.
