What's new

Much of India’s Covid anger is directed at Modi, but it’s unlikely to cost him at ballot box

Those who have never taken a breath in free air, where the media iare banned and the only media the people have access is state Run newspaper and TV channels, are are perfectly qualified to comment on what and how how democracy is is and should be. I am happy that at least they have heard the word democracy in this dictatorial and cruel regime with quota of mass execution.

our Pakistani friends,
look how your fast friend China is criticizing your democratic system. This is as much applicable to you as much it is applicable to India.
Fresh air as in Delhi Air? Lol. Dude don't overhyped democracy okay, I know how the voting system works. The kind of Westminster system India practices is one of the most messy and dysfunctional. You lost the righteous card long ago when cowherds started lynching folks and dalits killed for drinking from a well or when you censor twitter posts. Lol

.
This is why Indians will forgive Modi

BJP has a plan to bring in uniform civil code too...now that their popularity has diminished they will definitely bring in the law for uniform civil code just b4 elections...naturally muslims will make an uproar which will annoy hindus and that in turn will gravitate hindus towards bjp..moreover they will finish ram mandir too just b4 elections.
BjP would always have 15to 20 percent of hindu backing in many states...all they need to do is somehow attract another 15 to 20 percent by any means.

.
It is very nice to see Chinese talking about democracy, anger against an elected leader, cost in ballot etc. If they have democravy in their fate ever, they are not totally illitrate about democracy when it arrives.
Oh come on after all happened you still think India is a democracy . It's a fascist dictator ship.

.
This proves beyond all reasonable doubt that Indian voters are largely idiots and Modi is having a good laugh at them. He can cause the death of thousands of them through criminal negligence but the survivors will still vote for him.

With a democracy like Hindustan, who needs dictatorships?

Pakistan needs. Many of our Pakistani friends are highly impressed with Chinese models governance . They will certainly like to have Chinese style of dictatorship rather than democracy.

This dialogue is very old and used. You need to bring some innovation . I don't know how many times will you guy I say the same thing again and again?

It's not that simple, Chinese socialism is very different from USSR, our system is more like merit based old Chinese traditional confucian governance, every country has their own , unique characteristics, blindly following a foreign system completely regardless of what your own cultural and social backgrounds often spells disasters, China takes whatever best suits China from many governance systems, home and abroad, past and present, and this system is still being improved and fine tuned year on year.

Dictatorships have to keep the people in delusion so that they may not have to run the tanks on the students demanding democracy like what the day did tenement square. I know that people lyncing others is unusual for you as cpc is the only authority who lynchs people and fixes execution quota every year to maintain fear.

I fully agree with what you say. Mr Xi extending his presidentship for indefinite period of time is a merit based presidentship. His merrit is so high that no other guy is competent to be e the president till Mr Xi is alive. I also agree with you that foreign system should not be blindly followed. (By the way democracy is not foreign to India). The governance system should be best among available and suits your culture. So China choose best amongs the all systems which is suitable to Chinese culture. Dictatorship is the best suitable to China. Ha ha ha ha.

It's the Indian public who live in delusion, being over promised by their government of superpower status and a good life which can never be delivered in reality.

Xi's 10 years term will finish in 2023, how do you know he can stay in power in life? it's pure western propaganda. He started as a poor village party chief and worked his way through all the administrative ranks, so did all Chinese leaders, they are more merit based than their Indian counterparts who believe cows breath in carbon dioxide and out oxygen and cow pee possesses magical power . As for life term leadership no one knows it better than Indians who follow family dynasty politics.

Why you try so hard to show your ignorance here, Xi started his term in 2013, Chinese presidents serve 2 terms, 10 years, Xi won't finish his two terms until 2023. China is not like you

Democracy is not suited to the countries having the following characteristics:
  • High illiteracy
  • Personality worshipping
  • Alliances based on race, religion, caste, creed and classes. Not just that, where people hate to a level where someone has a good chance to get killed on the above divisions
  • Weak institutions having no courage to make the people charged with governance responsible
  • Rampant corruption
  • Poor GNI index where people living under the poverty line are forced to vote to increase the likelihood of basic nessacities
India (and also Pakistan) were definitely not ready for western democratic system when they got independence.

West took time under dictatorship for several hundred years to work on many of the above points before they fully adopted democratic system in their countries. But them thinking that it's best for any other country in the world that hasn't gone through the same correcting course is as wrong as saying that Sun, infact the entire universe, revolves around the planet Earth.

An example is that suppose there's an uneducated society majority of which believes that pseudoscience is better, of course the majority will vote for people who share the same characteristics as them. Another example is that the majority believes that a particular caste has more right to be its master, then of course that majority will elect people who belong to that caste, regardless of whether the elected person has been suspected of the financial crimes or the crimes against humanity in the recent past.

In such societies, making up the minds of people just before elections is very easy, and politicians are expert at doing that.

When a largely illiterated, irrational and gullible voting public go to vote under the influence of the bombardment of sensational media, you know what kind of person they would vote into power.

Ohhh , you Chines are so iinocent.

Out of 2964 votes, only 2 voted against and made the way for Xi to remain president for life time. A 50 cent troll says that he will retire in 2023. I think Xi personally called him.

Those Naheru Gandhi guys remained in power till people wanted. Now, their party has not won a sinhle seat out of 280 in Bengal. It is people's power. In China, Xi cleared the way for life time presidentship. It is Xi's power.
