MQM Serves Legal Notices On ARY & Three Newspapers For Tarnishing Its Image

Muttahida Qaumi Movement has decided to take legal action against those newspapers and private TV channels for leveling baseless and unfounded allegations against Muttahida Qaumi Movement and its chief Altaf Hussain in their different editions and talk shows and news analysis programmes, respectively.
Initially, the MQM has sent legal notices to the ARY’s host, Mubbashir Luqman and its owners for leveling baseless allegations against MQM and indulging in character assassination of Altaf Hussain in its `Khara Sach’ programmes aired on June, 27, 30 and July 2, claiming Rs10 billion as defamation amount.
Meanwhile, the MQM had also served legal notice on the owner, editor, printer of Urdu daily `Duniya’ and its London-based correspondent, Azhar Javaid, for publishing baseless news concerning Altaf Hussain’s properties in its July 2 publication, claiming Rs50 million as defamation charges.
Similarly, MQM has also served a legal notice on the proprietor, editor and publisher of daily `Ummat’ for publishing a fabricated news item in its July 2 issue, claiming Rs50m defamation charges.
MQM has also served a legal notice on English daily `Pakistan Today’ for publishing a fabricated story against the party.
Meanwhile, MQM legal experts were busy in preparing cases against other private TV channels for leveling baseless allegations in their talk shows and news analyses programmes as well as against some other newspapers for printing baseless and fabricated news in their publications.
