Mozammel for confiscating Jamaat’s assets and asked Jammatis to go to Pakistan

Ted Kennedy supported Mukti Bahini in US senate. French minister of Cultural Affairs back then, Andre Malroux vowed to follow git alongside Mukti bahini.

Dutch born Australian, William S Ouderland was given Bir Protik award(military award for bravery) for his role in Bangladesh Liberation war.

Mukti Bahini is respected everywhere other than in Pakistan, for obvious reasons. Many foreign countries have paid homage to Freedom fighters. Like many countries paid homage to language martyrs. Some even built Shaheed minar honouring them like Japan, Korea, USA, UK, Australia, Oman, Italy, one is being built in Netherlands.

Your biased version is only accepted in Pakistan, Sidd. Even many Pakistanis are questioning it now.

Fascism will always be appreciated in 3rd world countries by established regimes. Much easier to continue the loot and subjugation.

As far as the word Mukti is concerned. I have been asking for 2 days now. Have you achieved Mukti?

Both Musharraf and Nawaz do not represent normal sentiment in Pakistan, and neither does Zardari. They have radically different views than most of us.

Imran Khan is 100% correct, because mistakes were made on both sides, and this allowed India a way in.

We learned from this mistake and prevented a repeat in Afghanistan.
Well, feeling regret is the first step. If you feel regret today, then maybe 50 years later you will make a formal apology and then we can start becoming friendly nations.

This is what Imran Khan said back in 2011

As a citizen of Bangladesh, I never felt discriminated and never felt oppressed. I come from a simple middle class family which maybe have become upper middle class through efforts. And my family members are happy with their lives in Bangladesh.

An average citizen in East Pakistan was also content and satisfied. The bureaucracy had issues and which could be understood since they had pretty much figured it out that Indian economy is there to be leeched.

Political victimization in Bangladesh only grew after 1971.

I understand that nationalism is important for you guys but basing it on Pakistan bashing or guilt stricken hate towards Pakistan is very petty and honestly kinda primitive.

Who told you that? Some were. Majority were not. Otherwise no way Mukti Bahini could get this much support from local populace. Neither you guys would had to come with a operation searchlight.

Can you prove this?

East Pakistan never had the problem of people fleeing the country under refugee tag. East Pakistan may well have been neglected but that was never systematic nor it was planned.

Seriously how hard is to trigger you people into a frenzy? The border was porous at the time and probably still is with India over there and how many articles have been shared here with regards to illegal migration or smuggling.

Pakistan is not orphanage, keep your kind in your country, we already have millions of them in Karachi and they are all illegals.

We don’t regret it. We accept BD as a reality and BD has right to do what it likes for itself.

Pakistan did what it had to do also in 1971. Rest is history.

BD does not figure prominently in our day to day thinking. We are much more concerned with our neighbors whom we share a border with and ethnic ties with: Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Gulf, and China.

Musharraf already gave an apology, were you dissatisfied with that one? Why wait 50 years?

Then why execute an operation searchlight? Mujib wanted provincial autonomy first, whats the problem with that?

You cannot keep making excuse. Only Pakistanis badmouth Mukti Bahini. Rest of the world respects them. Many foreign PM, Presidents visit d BD and paid respect to martyrs of liberation war. Surely the world doesn't see them as terrorists. Only Pakistan does who is in the list of Terrorism Financing Nations. Lol.

Pakistan will not take political refugees from Bangladesh. If BD wants to kill or maim them, it is their business and they will have to deal with the consequences, not Pakistan.

Pakistan will not take India’s and BD’s hated and oppressed minorities.

Only Pakistan does who is in the list of Terrorism Financing Nations. Lol.

We all know US is trying to pressure Pakistan on Afghanistan and Kashmir to help India. Don’t be so coy.

Musharraf did not apologized he expressed regrets.

Imran Khan also respressed his regrets several times. Why not look at the thread I linked you? This was published in a Pakistani news outlet.

Mistakes were made by the West Pakistanis only who systematically persecuted the innocent bengalis, looted their resources, deprived them of their basic human rights.

Lastly when they lost the election by a huge margin they didn't hand over the power to the person elected by the people of Pakistan instead tried to keep the innocent bengalis under their feet by indiscriminately killing them. Thankfully our brave and courageous mukti bahini fought valiantly under the leadership of the father of our nation and gave those persecutors their well deserved treatment.

Most of the Muslim world still does. Hasina is not helping her PR image either.

US was Pakistan's best ally not long ago. And India is ally of Russia. Also many countries support US to include Pak in that list.

Musharraf did not apologized he expressed regrets.

He apologized to BD and the people of BD. Isn’t this what you want?

BAL, just like BJP, cannot afford to accept Pakistani overtures lest their populations stop hating Pakistan, as they rely on that hate for votes.

Geopolitical realities change. Cold War was one thing, but now all Muslim countries are in the crosshairs under the US’ ill-fated WoT.

Anyway, we should stay on topic. There are other threads to discuss it.
