Indeed, I am very disappointed in the complete lack of attention the BJP/NDA has given the 1984 atrocities since entering office. The victims have had to wait a very long time for justice and despite being promised some form of it numerous times by numerous personalities (both the AAP and BJP made quite a big deal about it prior to their respective elections) there is nothing to show for it.

It doesn't make any sense to me that the current GoI has completely ignored this issue for the past 18 months.

During Delhi election central government did announced compensation to 1984 victims (but honestly speaking it was just a political gimmick more than anything else). Although there was news of Supreme court asking CBI to submit report on few cases but still I dont see victim getting any justice. It's such a shame for entire India.

Amendment of constitution is not always bad. it depends on what kind of changes being done. After all, as per the constitution if any government has majority in both the lower and upper house, they have the legal rights to do so. and please note that getting these majority in lower house is winning more than 50% of Lok shabha seats and having majority in RS means have more than 50% seats in majority of the state assemblies. That requires lot of heart winning of the masses and if Modi government has done that, then they have the right to do the changes in the constitution.

Also, there is SC which act as guarantor of the constitution.
