Are you baiting me? The reason is but obvious - derail the talks. You know as well as I do that Indian media and opposition is hyperactive and would take any talks in the light of death of our trooper to be a sign of capitulation.

I dont know the political capital which the current PM have in his country but getting the Indian PM to sit in a negotiation table is a defo plus.

He'll be coming to attend SAARC Summit anyway not out of love for Pakistan and mutual disputes among members aren't discussed there. The Russian meeting was requested by Indian side and they asked for investigation of Mumbai Attacks. Our lassi wala Tiger could decline to meet as meeting wasn't planned, or could include border issue / Samjhota express investigation

Is there any respectable politician in Pakistan who could have a firm grip over the army and drive a pure pro- development government?

Our Govt cannot deal with your army due to obvious reasons including protocol among others and if NS does not have political capital to make any substantial deals with India, then who does?
