What's new

Max G turn rate (approx.) JF-17 14.4 deg/s vs F-16 13.33 deg/s

. . .
Both are by no means pulling their maximum Gs

Which makes sense, the actual rate of JF-17 would be classified... until we hand it over to Myanmar and BD and I fully expect it to be discussed on a forum called jf-17.net just like there is a f-16.net :D I am looking forward to those happy days!!!

Also note the lack of thick black smoke trail on JF-17 throughout the demo. Do you know what's going on here?

In any case, I'd say this is pretty darned impressive.

They just using better oil and servicing it harder

I think they use blue oil to hide smoke:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Well I think I shared a commet before you can buy "Anti Oil burning" chemical agents that prevent oil to burn with fuel and only fuel is burned thus producing no smoke

People use it all time for cars mixed together with oil and added in vehicles , not pretty much the effect is same for Jet Engines as fuel/oil are still used in Jet Engines

Not sure if such chemicals are readily used in Pakistan or Asia
Sold for like 1 buck per bottle effects lasts for 2-3 months normally done together with oil change

@Zarvan was talking about somebody on Facebook talking about new engine in JF-17 that performed aerobatics. Never knew if that claim was busted or proven true.

Black smoke is due to incomplete combustion in the combustion chamber, if the aircraft is using afterburner, it will burn all that "unburn" fuel in exhaust pipe thus no smoke!

Bhai jaan, every aircraft burns oil as oil can make its way into combustion chamber upon engine shut down. There is nothing you can do about it. After a few flights mechanics have to top up the oil (you never change oil in aircraft engine, its no like a car). Some engines burn more than the other obviously. But that smoke is not because of oil, but unburn fuel during throttle changes. Engines control their guide vanes and stators through fuel, in an engine most hydraulic work is done through fuel than actual hydraulic fluid or Skydrol. RD-93 is based on an old engine thus it probably uses that system as well. Fuel gets to the combustion chamber before enough air can also get in there, thus you get the black smoke or unburn fuel. It only lasts like a second before you have a decent stoichiometric mixture.

Time for people to experiment on old engine and put anti smoke mixture into
oil and run engine ...do it

Order the bottle on Amazon.com ($1-$3.25 per bottle but 2 bottles ) and test it out if it fixes smoke problem worse thing comes , it will make more smoke

All the mixture does it , it makes the oil "less burnable", reduces its capacity to burn which is the main reason why smoke is created from inside the engine (for auto mobiles)

If engine design did not planned for accidental "overmixing" of oil / fuel , it produces a smoke trail.

A friend is claiming that the JF-17 which performed at parade was the one with new engine. It's also proved because the ones who were performing in Karachi were releasing some smoke. @Arsalan @Horus
