I thought only the F-16s took part in the 2019 skirmishes,I didn't know you had used the JF-17s too :S

This whole debate can be laid to rest with the following:
- Does Rafale give India the ability to strike Pakistan more conveniently than before? Yes, it does.

However, the issue in the past and even now was never about the IAF not having this capability to strike. If they don't do it with stealth (which Rafale offers to some extent), they could do it with numbers as was the case in Balakot. So they have always had the capability to strike Pakistan.

What needs to be pondered over is that Pakistan too retains this very same capability to harm India. We don't even have to fly our aircraft over their airspace and simply have to employ OTH capabilities. This is the deterrence that is place regardless of this inane Rafale vs. F-16 or the multitude of other platform vs. platform comparisons.

In summary, do the Indians have the ability to strike Pakistan? Yes. Do we have the ability to strike back in the same quantum +1? Yes, in spades and vice versa.

Hope better sense prevails.

F16 didnt took part in strikes..it was mirage 5 and jf17s

F16 just happen to encounter enemey fighters in one sector and shot them down thats pretty much their role

Paf need to take on one Rafale in any upcoming indian adventure and this whole bubble will burst

even for the sake of argument if IAF take out a f-16 even then it won’t matter much as it’s old version of f-16

if IAF doesn’t use Rafale against PAF then it’s busted as well

one Rafale taken will give such a big blow to IAF dynamics and overall world arm sales and to france as well

Funny thing is not likely it’s actually very highly likely PAF will target and destroy the image IAF building about Rafale

PAF did this with SU30 MKI before and can be done again

The Mig-21 has been used by other Air Forces with good results. Russians,Vietnamese and even Arabs who were usually smashed by the Israeli Air Force.

The Mig-29 was used generally better in other Air Forces.

The Mirage 2000 has been used with excellent results by the HAF,French Air Force,Peru,UAE and Egypt

The Su-30...well doesn't have some crazy combat record,but it's supposed to be better than the Su-27 and Su-30MK and still the Indians blame it now for being a "failure".

I suspect that PAF will want to use a JF17 Block III with PL-15s to take on the Rafale and not the F16 as PL-15s outrage the AMRAAMs.
