They sure wont go against the state. And please dont think hunger or poverty is the exclusive preserve of those people..there are probably another hundred million people in equal if not worse poverty elsewhere..I dont see them taking arms..face it..the insurgency is just another tactic of a core leadership exploiting the tribals and using them as cannon fodder to further their utopian ideals of a proletriat.

BTW I am not saying giving justification on anyone's behalf, I am telling you what these people thinks, after decades of oppression. Is the area where your relatives live, is oppressed by the state themselves for decades ?.....

Of course they won't go against the state. But then you are not in place of those people living in Naxalite areas.

Its easy to bring moral high ground when you are the third party as an observer, but unless you don't see that those people are influenced to pick up arms.

You cant be serious? They lack in everything behind the taliban, especially determination and experience. Taliban have fought 2 superpowers..... maoists have only fought a bunch of forest cops and crpf guys.

Buddy, my points will be in vain if you don't read about reaspons and rise of Naxalites. Read the post of @trinity carefully without any prejudice.

Let me give you an example, if you live in a distant village, you are constantly oppressed by state, your land is taken without proper compensation, your kids are suffering, some people blew of CRPF vehicle because they were sick of this oppression, a CRPF team comes to your village with a sole aim to kill you, will you pick up the gun to protect you and your family or let them become an easy target.

Think about it.

Let me tell you an example. A girl leader of youth party was taken to police station, turned out she was harassed and may be raped by them, what will you do ? Few guys from youth group went to Police station and freed that girl. Now tell me one thing,

Without knowing the fact that Police itself was involved in attempted rape of girl, what will you think.

Police did their work, youth got angry and attacked Police station. Poor policemen. Now this is what will be reported in media and you will call the youth group as culprit.

Me and @trinity point out the real reasons fueling this movement. Unless you understand it, talk to people who can give you ground reality, you will never make an informed decision.

i understand ur perspective..mine is a bit different .i agree that we have problems at the same time i also believe that means is as important as the end.killing people is no solution...nothing have they achieved all these years.leaders are still corrupt ppl still have prblms with law and order and basic needs..nothing can be achieved by going against the system we need to be the part of a system to change it.why are states like chattisgarh, orissa,jharkhand are left behind while states like a.p has moved on after the issue was tackled??they obstruct the growth cutting communication lines,blasting the bridges.what sort of ideology is that..
u say i made an informed decision...check these..data by the indian govt itself and the U.N which shows the hdi of different states.the states i mentioned have one of the lowest hdi.not just hdi also look at percapita and avg life span..but still are improving rapidly as the naxalism is getting reduced..also do not fail to observe the change b/w 96,06,11.

@neehar Now you are approaching to conclusion which we already stated. Violence don't give your rights always. So its better to educate the masses and tell them to fight for their constitutional rights via Vote not Violence.

The killings involved segregated the violent faction. Also read about governmental steps taken to reduce this menace.

I don't defend violence, I just comment on why they became violent at first place, what was the reasons and socio-economic conditions that made them pick up the arms and who influenced them to become violent rather than becoming active in politics.

My aim is to explain the dynamics of spread of extremism in a population. If you want I can give you list of publications where this phenomenon is studied in detail.
