And as I said - 5% error would put it back to 3% = but even the people who disagreed with independence = Communists, Atheists, are loyal Pakistanis in 2011. And people suggesting reversing our nationhood are less than 0.1%

And from personal evidence people against the independence of Pakistan in 47 in india today would be a lot more than 8% - so what.

Nothing.. 1st of all, if I was a part of that poll, I would have been with the 92% and not 8%.. so I am not trying to have fun with proving that the best thing that British did in India (other than introducing railways and English) was a wrong decision

Was simply trying to discuss why the % of people who think other wise is on the rise. Agno made some valid points, but they seem to have been lost in the ensuing barrage of indignation over the percentage increase..

where??? we are just questioning the existence of 8% morons who voted against and why this percentage of morons in Pakistan has increased from 3% 5 years back..
I would not call them morons just yet, the poll question was rather simple and the answer against could reflect an opinion on history, rather than any interest in being part of India, and could reflect despondency with the current security and governance situation. They probably also include the Gaza e Hind crowd and those who believe The combined Muslim population of Pakistan, Bangladesh and India would have become a very strong political force and managed to convert India to Islam and control it.

I agree with the majority Pakistanis on this one, one of the rare times that I will ever agree with the majority Pakistani opinion.

A valid argument - and correct.

Expected and it wont be surprising if this 8 per rises to overwhelming number in near future, but of no use as we have a big Board in our western border screaming "NO ENTRY"

I think this much percentage should always exist, this much people probably existed at the time of separation.... no issue whatsoever.

I think people are over reading into the statement of the minority in the matter.
They didn't imply that they were against the creation of Pakistan but rather against the separation of two Nations.
I have met Indians who wish the two countries had remain as one just like some from Bangladesh convey the same message.

Sorry if I hurt any sentiments.. I was being a little tongue in cheek at the vehement opposition to the possibility of existence of those 8%..

And a pretty cool twist you have there .. I like it.. kind of throws a light on the mind set of why democracy is an issue in pakistan.. You imply that the control over a country has to have a religious undertone and is always a factor of one religion vs the other.. as against one political party against the other (as is in a democracy)...
